In the ominous Youju Town, where the wind howls with ill omens, fourteen-year-old Zhao Chan lives a precarious life as an errand boy. While the townspeople whisper of mountain ghosts and demon afflictions, Zhao Chan maintains a calm, detached demeanor, seemingly untouched by the horrors surrounding him. When he is recruited to assist the local Demon Slayer Bureau, he is thrust into a world of blood, talismans, and malevolent entities.

As he accompanies the veteran slayer Wang Huan to investigate a gruesome massacre, Zhao Chan reveals a hidden, lethal competence that defies his humble appearance. Armed with a mysterious peach branch and a cold, pragmatic resolve, he begins to navigate a landscape where humans and monsters blur, and survival requires more than just a sharp blade—it requires the strength to face the darkness without losing one's own humanity.
