Chapter 6: Daredevil

From Marvel, Starting as a Genie

Just as he was praying, suddenly, Frank felt wind behind his ears. He ducked and did a side roll, and a short stick swept past his eyes. Behind the short stick was a long, thick rope.

Just then, the thick rope suddenly tightened, and the short stick turned back. Frank kicked the short stick aside with a side kick, followed by a turn.

*Bang! *

The bullet passed through the barrel and grazed the attacker's body.

Daredevil?

Frank, who had turned around, recognized the attacker's appearance. The attire of these so-called superheroes was always so special, making it possible to identify their identity at a glance.

"Why did you place the bomb!" Daredevil asked loudly, full of anger, questioning Frank.

Crazy...

Frank cursed in his heart. You ambushed me, you took the initiative, and then you just gave it back like this? What kind of third-rate TV show does he think this is? Do you not need to take up time for questioning and arguing?

Frank only knew that if you attacked, you were the enemy! Beat them down first, then ask questions!

The sound of bullets leaving the barrel interrupted Daredevil's questioning. Frank, who had regained the initiative, began to fire continuously. The two pistols made Daredevil struggle left and right, unable to resist, and he could only rely on his extraordinary perception to hide in the nearby alley.

Listening to the gunfire in his ears, Matt calculated the number of bullets in Frank's pistols.

Now!

Matt, who had been hiding for half a minute, suddenly rushed out, his double sticks flying out with a *whoosh*, smashing toward Frank.

I bet your gun is out of bullets!

*Bang, bang, bang. *

Obviously, Matt lost the bet. The thrown short sticks were hit by bullets and bounced around in the air. The scene was a bit silent for a moment.

"Heh, this isn't some hero game, or rather, the game is over." Frank held a third pistol, his muzzle lowered, aiming at Matt's thigh, preparing to leave him an unforgettable lesson.

*Swish! *

A black shadow flashed by, striking Frank's wrist. The gun in his hand was also knocked flying directly. Following closely, the hard-to-capture stick shadow struck the pistol into smithereens in the air from all angles.

"This is indeed not some hero game, but the game is not over." When Stick spoke, his attacks didn't stop either. With his apprentice's previous car crash as a lesson, he knew very well that this person before him wasn't the usual small-time thug they encountered, and he probably knew who this was.

*Slap, slap, slap. * Caught off guard, Frank could only use his arms to block the knocking of the long stick. He hadn't felt at all when Stick had appeared beside him.

Soon, bruises appeared one after another on Frank's body. In this process, Frank had also thought about pulling out his backup gun to counterattack, but when a gunman is approached by a martial arts master, when to counterattack is not up to him to decide.

Although Frank was very aggrieved now, it wasn't particularly dangerous. Stick's attacks basically landed on the fleshy parts of Frank's body, because Stick also knew that if Frank really wanted to kill Daredevil, those three bullets wouldn't have hit the short stick but would have directly hit the reckless Matt.

Can't go on like this!

Frank felt the pain in his body gradually increasing and made a decision in his heart; he was now judging the landing points of the attacks more and more frequently, but compared to Stick's storm-like onslaught, he was still far behind.

And so, Frank abandoned defense directly and launched a counterattack, his long fist swinging out fiercely when the long stick landed on his body.

"Speed is okay, technique is too poor."

Stick commented faintly, the long stick flicking, the stick body whipping onto Frank's arm.

Frank took advantage of the momentum to roll to the side, his left hand already touching his bosom.

"Beyond seven steps, the gun is fast; within seven steps, the stick is fast!"

Stick's long stick arrived first despite starting later, pressing against Frank's chest. The gun he had just touched was also smashed to the ground directly.

Frank was pressed to the ground by Stick in a strange posture, his mind thinking about how to escape.

A few seconds later, Stick suddenly withdrew the long stick and took two steps back. "Are you the one looking for the Dragon Bone?"

Frank looked up at this thin but powerful old man. He didn't understand: he was asking for information at Tire's place, how did it become that everyone knew?

"Get up. Those Hand ninjas will be here soon too," Stick continued. "As for the Dragon Bone, come with me if you want to know anything."

Under Stick's lead, Frank arrived at a secret base. This place was located underground in Hell's Kitchen. It was a bit dirty and messy, but it was secret enough.

"Sit down, Mr. Punisher," Stick said, getting straight to the point.

Frank sat down in a chair. Matt took a bottle of safflower oil from the cabinet and placed it before him, then walked away without looking back. He had a very poor impression of Frank, and now he didn't make trouble only because his teacher was there.

Frank listened to Stick calling out his identity and didn't care much, just using the safflower oil to rub away the bruised blood on his body.

"Before we communicate, I want to ask you a question: what are you doing looking for the Dragon Bone?" Stick leaned against the edge of the table and asked, the long stick in his hand resting on the ground, functioning like a blind cane.

"I need it," Frank paused and answered.

This answer exceeded Stick's expectations.

"You need it?"

"Yes."

"How old are you now?"

"?"

Frank didn't understand. What did age have to do with Dragon Bone?

"Are you very afraid of death?" Stick continued to ask, his ears carefully listening to Frank's heartbeat. This was an alternative, moderately effective way of lie detection.

"What do you mean? Is there a connection?" Frank asked back, full of confusion.

"What do you think is the greatest use of Dragon Bone?"

"What?"

"Prolonging life."

"Prolonging life?!"

Frank was truly surprised now. He remembered that one of the keywords given in the information about the Dragon Bone fossil from the Genie's side was "curse." This thing could be used to prolong life?! Are you sure it's not "ascending to heaven early"?

Stick frowned slightly. Frank seemed to really not know that Dragon Bone was used to extend life. Then why was he looking for this thing?

"Of course, Dragon Bone can bring people back from the dead when their time is up and extend their lifespan. This is also the reason why those people from the Hand are desperately pursuing it. They don't have much Dragon Bone left in their hands, and they must find more Dragon Bone to continue living," Stick explained.

"Then where are the other Dragon Bones? In Hell's Kitchen?" Frank stared at Stick and asked.

Stick looked at Frank deeply. "I don't know."

Is it "I don't know," or "I'm not willing to say"?

Frank couldn't judge Stick's true thoughts for a moment. "Are you also planning to prolong your life?"

"No, I just want to smash the brains of that group of guys one by one," Stick said coldly. The people he was talking about were the several leaders of the Hand.

Matt, listening to this, sighed in his heart. He was the type who wouldn't kill if he could avoid it, advocating legal sanctions, while his teacher was the opposite and a bit like Frank, belonging to the type of person who fights violence with violence and roots out evil completely.

"Is that so? So, what do you want me to do?" Frank smiled faintly and didn't delve into it, continuing to ask.

"I don't need you for anything. I just want to tell you that the Hand members you killed today are just the lowest level. They don't represent the true power of the Hand," Stick said, the long stick in his hand flicking, and the secret base door opened.

Frank shrugged. Since the host was seeing him out, he followed the host's lead.

"If you plan to find me, you can come here again," Stick's voice came into Frank's ears from inside before the door closed.

After Frank walked far away, Stick turned his head toward Matt. They were going to change the location of the base.

Once a secret base is known, it is no longer secret.

After the two left, only the surveillance camera remained swinging left and right in the room. ===== CHAPTER 7 =====
