Chapter 83: Virtual Universe Surreal Portable Holographic Projector

~6 min read 1,163 words

After finishing the divination results for Harry, Johnson didn't have much time to rest before hurrying to another classroom.

This morning, he had his elective class, a double session.

If people would still audit the Divination class, then Muggle Studies was truly ignored. The young wizards who chose this elective, besides interest, might also have had the mindset of choosing a film appreciation class in college.

However, those who didn't choose this class didn't know what a wonderful course they were missing.

Here, Johnson also wanted to complain about Hogwarts' course scheduling: Gryffindor's required course and his elective were scheduled together. Wasn't this artificially creating obstacles for elective choices?

Additionally, Johnson had been at Hogwarts for so many days and had figured out a little bit about Hogwarts' restriction rules on electronic products.

In one sentence, it was that Hogwarts couldn't restrict things that were low-end enough or high-end enough.

Low-end things, like pagers, Johnson had tried. Although there was interference, because the amount of information per transmission was too low, they could still be used normally; at least most of the time, one could guess what the transmitted letters were.

Overly high-end things, like the holographic projector Johnson was carrying—this device, which currently only existed in Tony's lab, had the full name: Virtual Universe Surreal Portable Holographic Projector.

In Johnson's view, this thing, like most armor, was definitely black technology, and because its function was relatively singular, it suffered much less interference than armor.

After rushing to the classroom, Johnson stood on the podium. On the way, he had incidentally changed into a suit, so it would be more appropriate.

"Students, I am Thomas Johnson..."

While Johnson was introducing himself with a normal opening, he saw Hermione sitting in the front row, looking very bored, and muttered to himself.

Did his elective class have such great appeal?

She wasn't going to Head of House McGonagall's required Transfiguration class, but instead ran over to take Muggle Studies? She must not want to graduate!

Doubts were doubts, but Johnson didn't pay much attention to it. If this course schedule could be approved, there must be a reason for it.

"Young wizards, put down the books in your hands. I have to say, the things written in this book, if you set aside reality, might still be of some use."

Johnson said bluntly, "So in this class, I allow you to not bring books at all. You just need to follow me and learn bit by bit."

Hermione propped her head up, looking at Johnson. Good heavens, why did this sentence sound like something she had heard before? And couldn't he have said it earlier? This book was quite expensive.

"Today, in our first class, let's get to know a piece of technology from the ordinary human world, which is the Muggle world as you call it." Johnson said, opening the box in his hand.

Small, round balls flew *whoosh* into every corner of the classroom.

"The name of this product is a holographic projector."

Following Johnson's words, the scene simulation began. The light emitted from the small balls intersected in the air, together forming a scene of a wild meadow. The realism was maxed out, enough to pass for the real thing.

Under the influence of visual senses, many young wizards even experienced olfactory errors, smelling the scent of grass and soil.

*Clatter, bang*, there were many sounds of collision in the classroom. After desks and other objects were virtualized, the excited young wizards easily bumped into them.

"Hey, Hermione, I suddenly envy you a bit. This is really great!"

Hermione listened to her desk-mate's words and nodded in astonishment. To be honest, it was her first time seeing such a scene. How long had she been in school, and had she already been completely abandoned by the times?!

"Alright, everyone, keep quiet and sit in your seats. It only simulates visual effects; the things around you are still real."

Johnson said, adjusting the level of the simulation to make the edges of things like desks highlight, otherwise someone would really get hurt from bumping into them.

"So, next, I would like to invite someone to join me in a deep experience of this product..."

Johnson said, reaching into his pocket. *Damn it*, the student roster was left on the table in the Divination classroom. After hesitating for a moment, Johnson could only look at the only student he currently remembered. "Ms. Hermione, please come up."

"Okay, Professor." Hermione was very willing. She felt as if she had suddenly traveled from the wizarding world to a future sci-fi world.

"Don't be nervous next; everything is just a visual effect." Johnson provided a warning.

Hermione nodded. She wouldn't be nervous; she was born in the Muggle world, so these things definitely wouldn't surprise her—probably...

"Then, the game begins!"

Following Johnson's words, the surrounding scene changed instantly. The galaxy flashed rapidly before Hermione's eyes. Under the dim stars, the light and shadows of various weapons flashed in the air, accompanied by the fire of exploding warships, and galaxy after galaxy flashed by.

The screen turned and returned to the Milky Way. Hermione seemed to be standing at the position of the sun, with all the planets revolving around her. Just then, the image of Earth suddenly expanded.

Hermione saw giant dragons of various colors flying across the sky, the exquisite yet rough propellers of goblins stirring the air, and on the ground, various strange-looking animals running continuously. A lady in robes raised her staff, and a sky full of blizzards fell to the ground.

What a fantasy world; this was the game opening animation produced by Tony Stark based on the background story of a game.

The entire classroom was silent; all the children were immersed in this extraordinary sensory experience. This fantasy world was completely different from the wizarding world, yet it was this difference that showed a unique charm.

Johnson was very satisfied with the students' reactions. To be honest, when he first saw it, he was also too surprised to speak.

The screen continued to move. Hermione crossed mountains and rivers and came before a magnificent giant city. The flag of Stormwind City fluttered in the wind on the city walls.

Passing through the noisy alleys and brushing shoulders with various races, some tall and some short, Hermione came to a tavern. Amidst the warm firelight, the door opened with a *boom*.

"Welcome to the tavern. Quick, find a seat and sit down first!"

A thick male voice issued an invitation to Hermione. She just moved slightly, and her body automatically entered the tavern, standing in front of the wine table.

Hermione carefully reached out and pressed down to confirm that there was really a chair under her bottom before sitting down.

A bearded boss walked over with a warm smile on his face. He tossed his right hand upward, and golden cards fell like rain, landing beside Hermione. ===== CHAPTER 84 =====
