Chapter 273: Short Goodbyes Boost Gold Coin Drops
The academy teacher, I get stronger by teaching — Volume 191: A short separation is more conducive to earning gold coins. "Grandma, I'm back!" Obito shouted impatiently as soon as he stepped into the yard.
"Welcome home." Grandma walked to the door and showed a kind smile.
"You must be hungry. I'll make you something to eat." It was just noon, and Grandma thought Obito probably hadn't eaten yet, so she turned and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch for him.
Obito grinned and nodded, then sat down in the living room.
When Obito sat down on the living room chair, his body and mind completely relaxed, and he even felt a bit sleepy.
"I wasn't tired before, so why do I feel tired now that I'm sitting down to rest?" Obito scratched his head, a little puzzled.
Not understanding was one thing, but sitting on the chair at home was still very comfortable, so he sat however he liked.
"Obito, that Uchiha Yashiro came looking for you yesterday, and he brought quite a few things. He said that if you have time after finishing your mission, you should join the clan's young ninja exchange meeting." Grandma recalled yesterday's events while cooking and brought it up.
"Young ninja exchange meeting? What's that? A gathering for chatting?" Obito asked; he didn't really understand.
"Something like that. I think they also spar and fight, and there are prizes for winning. Your father participated in it once too." Obito's grandma said after thinking back.
"Then what reward did Dad get?" Obito looked toward the kitchen with curiosity. He rarely heard Grandma talk about his father.
"I can't remember that, but your father was very happy at the time. He told me a lot—how strong the seniors were, how hard he fought to defeat an opponent, things like that." Grandma paused for a moment before answering.
When she recalled the past, she realized she was truly old, having forgotten so many things about her own child.
"It's in two days, Obito. If you don't want to go, then don't. They don't know when you finished your mission anyway." Grandma said while cooking.
She knew Obito had never gotten along well with the other clan members since he was young.
"Why wouldn't I go? There's a prize, and it's not like there's an entry fee." Obito grinned in reply.
He wasn't interested in interacting with clan members, but if there was a reward, he might as well check it out.
"Eat quickly. A full stomach gives you strength to fight." Obito's grandma set the finished dishes on the table and said cheerfully.
Obito nodded quickly, ready to dig in.
"Obito, how are things with you and Rin? Have you let Rin know how you feel?" Grandma asked with a smile.
"Cough, cough." Obito choked on his rice and coughed a couple of times.
Grandma immediately walked over to Obito, gently patting his back to help him breathe.
"Feelings? Grandma, you know we're only nine years old." Obito replied with a red face.
Grandma smiled without speaking. With Obito's little thoughts, she could see right through him.
"Grandma, you should eat too, before it gets cold." To prevent Grandma from saying anything else that would make him blush, Obito quickly said.
After finishing the meal, Obito shared with Grandma what he had heard from the client about the Land of Hot Water, then headed to the Southern Forest to train.
Just as he was about to arrive, Obito ran into someone he didn't really want to see.
"Not sleeping at home?" Kakashi asked calmly.
He felt a little disappointed—if Obito hadn't come today, he would have worked one more day than Obito and received more of Muyue's instruction.
"Sleeping? It's broad daylight, why would I be sleeping? Of course I'm coming to train with Teacher Muyue." Since he had already reached the Southern Forest, Obito said directly.
Obito was glad he hadn't rested just because of a little fatigue—otherwise, he wouldn't have known Kakashi was secretly putting in an extra day.
The two exchanged a look and walked into the Southern Forest together. At that moment, Muyue was developing Water Breathing, and Shisui was training in constant chakra control.
"Why are you coming at this hour? Didn't Minato take you training or on a mission today?" Muyue asked when he saw them.
Muyue was pretending. He knew Obito and Kakashi had gone on a mission with Minato—he had seen the reward for completing it.
【Disciples Kakashi and Uchiha Obito worked hard to complete the commissioned mission, gaining growth reward: Chakra +700】
Seeing this reward, Muyue understood that Obito and the others had probably run into trouble during the mission again. With only two disciples and without his team bonus, seven hundred chakra points was already a considerable number.
"Is it not my problem, but Obito and Kakashi really have bad luck?" Muyue thought.
He had previously thought it was his own deliberate selection that caused so many incidents, but it turned out that even without him picking the missions, Obito and Kakashi still consistently had accidents.
"We just got back from the mission. Teacher Minato gave us four days off." Obito explained.
"This mission was really close. Kakashi's mouth is like a jutsu—the moment he says 'no problems,' problems are guaranteed." Obito couldn't wait to tell Muyue about their mission experience.
"Just a coincidence!" Kakashi emphasized.
"Didn't you hear that registration ninja's warning? There are Cloud ninjas active in the Land of Springs. We just happened to run into them."
"All I know is that this is the fifth time in a row we've had an accident." Obito stated, facts speaking louder than words.
When Obito said that number, Kakashi had no reply. Five consecutive accidents, two of which even involved running into the Fourth Raikage candidate—that really was a bit uncanny.
Next, Obito continued sharing his mission experience with Muyue. "Teacher Muyue, you'll never guess who we ran into this time. Thankfully, Minato-sensei's Flying Thunder God is strong enough, or else you might never have seen us again."
Obito genuinely felt this mission was thrilling. He hadn't seen the fight between Muyue and the Fourth Ei last time, so he didn't know the Fourth Ei's specific strength. This time, although Minato was in front taking the lead, the distance wasn't that far, and he could see the details of the fight between the Fourth Ei and Minato.
"That Raikage candidate again?" Muyue thought for a moment and said. Cloud ninja again, and strong—the first ones that came to his mind were the Fourth Ei and Killer B.
After all, the Third Raikage wasn't so easy to encounter; you'd usually only meet him on very important battlefields.
"Teacher Muyue, you're amazing! You guessed it just like that." Obito looked at Muyue in surprise, never expecting Muyue to figure it out so easily.
Muyue laughed and replied, "Maybe I'm just lucky."
"Alright, let's chat after training and resting. First, let's train." Muyue then said. Since Obito and the others came to the Southern Forest at this time, they must be preparing to train. If they wanted to chat, they could just come to his house tonight.
"Kakashi, you start the Breathing Method constant-state training. As long as you have stamina, maintain the full-concentration state."
"Obito, first learn a new Fire Release from me. After you've mastered the Fire Release jutsu, then we'll do Breathing Method training."
Kakashi's most urgent task was solving the reaction problem. The Lightning Breathing constant-state realm was more important for Kakashi now than any other ability.
Reaction enhancement training had its limits; you couldn't solve the problem just by relying on this kind of training. As long as the reaction problem remained unsolved, Kakashi's Lightning Breathing would be restricted. Fully activating his speed was like gambling—gambling that the opponent couldn't react to that speed.
As for Obito, Muyue felt that Obito still lacked a large-scale, high-power Fire Release.
To prevent the flames from setting the forest on fire, Muyue took Obito to the riverside for training.
"Teacher Muyue, what Fire Release are you going to teach me? Is it that Fire Release that looks like a sea of fire?" Obito asked excitedly. He still remembered Muyue's Head Torture from their first C-rank mission.
"No, but in terms of power, this jutsu is no worse than that one." Muyue shook his head and said.
What he was going to teach Obito was the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet. This was one of the jutsu scrolls Danzo had given him.
Muyue first explained the release principle and various key points, then demonstrated.
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!"
Muyue quickly formed hand seals, then condensed chakra and opened his mouth to spew out a large amount of raging flames.
The flames of the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet were different from ordinary Fire Release because of its fierce nature; it could attack from many directions simultaneously.
Of course, no jutsu was powerful for no reason. Because of this characteristic, the flames of the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet were extremely difficult to control. If not used properly, forget attacking the enemy from multiple angles—it would be lucky not to burn the user.
Under Muyue's control, the incredibly fierce flames split into three streams and shot toward the river, evaporating a large amount of water, with white mist billowing upward.
Because so much water had evaporated in an instant, in Obito's eyes, the river surface became extremely uneven for a moment.
"This jutsu has great power, but it also consumes a lot of chakra. Don't use it like a Great Fireball." Muyue warned.
"Mm-hmm, I know." Seeing how fierce the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet's flames were, Obito's eyes lit up, and he quickly nodded like a pecking chick.
After demonstrating once, Muyue carefully broke down the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet and explained it step by step, then demonstrated again.
He taught different people differently. If it were Shisui, he wouldn't explain too finely because it would be a waste of time; Shisui could extrapolate from a single point on many aspects after just one listen.
【You taught your disciple Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet. Due to the disciple's gratitude, a reward critical strike occurred. You obtained the jutsu Water Release: Water Prison Technique.】
Probably because they hadn't seen each other for a while, even though Muyue hadn't deliberately manipulated emotions, Obito still popped a small critical hit.
The Water Prison Technique was indeed a good jutsu; it could be used both to trap enemies and sometimes to protect oneself or block attacks.
When training ended, Muyue invited all three disciples to his house for dinner.
"Great! I get to eat Teacher Muyue's cooking again." Obito happily agreed.
Shisui and Kakashi were also willing to go and agreed immediately.
While Muyue was cooking that evening, Minato and Might Guy also came to his house.
