198. Chapter 198: Unwilling to Lose 2

Lili finished breakfast and brought me another baozi, saying Shangguan Yun bought it, maybe it was Shangguan Yun who bought it; looking at the steaming hot baozi, a sudden sour ache welled up in my heart, tears again rolling in my eyes. Looking at the steaming hot baozi, however, I had no appetite.

"I don't want to eat, I can't." After saying that, I picked up the baozi that had been thrown aside earlier that morning; Lili merely gave me a strange look and said nothing else.

After afternoon classes ended, I returned to the dormitory alone, hiding there to quietly reminisce about the past. Suddenly I wanted to call Haohua, wondering how he was doing now, whether he had found a girlfriend. People are like that—when they're in a romantic relationship they forget some friends; once they break up or argue, they especially want nearby friends to come keep them company and comfort them.

I held my phone, staring at the number Haohua had left me before, and without hesitation dialed it. Soon the other side answered, and it seemed quiet there as well.

After the call connected, I spoke in a choked voice, softly saying, "It's me. Have you been doing okay lately?"

Upon receiving my call, Haohua was obviously somewhat excited and surprised.

"I'm just like that; I didn't expect you to call. How about you—have you been doing okay? Is he treating you well?" Haohua asked with concern. Hearing his words made my heart ache even more; I covered my mouth with my hand for a while before saying, "He treats me very well."

After that, I listened to Haohua talk about some trivial matters in his life, while my tears streamed down every inch of my cheeks.

After hanging up, I finally burst into tears, but I dared not make a sound.

When Lili returned, she brought me another bowl of noodles; I knew this was also bought by Shangguan Yun outside, because the school cafeteria doesn't serve noodles at noon.

Looking at the steaming hot noodles, my heart still didn't warm up. Shangguan Yun keeps his word; he said he wouldn't come look for me these days, and indeed he hasn't.

"Lili, thank you. Next time tell him not to buy anymore—I have no appetite. If I get hungry I'll buy something to eat myself; I'm not so foolish as to starve myself." After saying that, I squeezed out a faint smile and smiled at them.

I left the noodles there uneaten again.
