Chapter 15
Captain Wang stood up, glanced at Fang Yang, moved his lips slightly, held back for a long moment, and finally said, "Young man, thank you for calling the police. Let's wrap up!"
He did not blame Fang Yang.
Because he knew it certainly wasn't intentional.
Even he himself had studied it for a long time before realizing it wasn't a corpse; let alone the discoverer who had been frightened.
Fang Yang smiled apologetically, "Sorry, I've wasted your time!"
Captain Wang smiled, "No problem, this is our duty; there's no such thing as wasted time. Isn't it better if it's not a murder case? Don't you think?"
"Right, right, right. Take care, brother!"
"Alright, young man, goodbye!"
As clouds of dust drifted by, the police car slowly disappeared from sight.
Not long after, a Mercedes-Benz drove up again.
Boss Yang got out in a rage and walked over, "Where's the corpse? Where is it?"
Fang Yang smiled bitterly and pointed at the half dummy in the pit.
"Damn! It really is a corpse! You're a reincarnated jinx, aren't you? Why didn't you call the police immediately!"
"The police were here; they just left!"
Boss Yang looked confused, "What do you mean? Are you pulling my leg?"
Fang Yang shook his head and sighed, "That was a dummy, not a corpse. The police took a look and left!"
"Ah? Let me go check!"
One minute later, he kicked it.
"Pah!"
"What bad luck!"
Boss Yang climbed up, panting, "Since there's no problem, that's even better. If there's nothing else, I'll head off. You keep working!"
"Alright!"
Watching the boss leave, Fang Yang got back into the driver's seat and started working again.
The cameraman was already exhausted, sitting there motionless.
Although it was just a misunderstanding earlier.
Observant viewers in the live stream had already recorded it, edited it into a short video, and posted it online.
Yesterday's major incident had made some self-media creators with sharp instincts quickly post short videos related to Fang Yang online.
Although all the videos were taken down afterward.
The traffic generated by the videos was their greatest value.
Many people gained over a million followers in a single day just because of one video.
This made those who hadn't reacted in time beat their chests in regret.
You see, a million followers bring enough value to allow an ordinary family to live a wealthy life.
With such huge profits, who wouldn't be envious?
Although only a little over twenty minutes had passed since the incident, several versions were already circulating online.
Self-media creators with large followings gained massive views, likes, and saves in just that short time.
The most commented posts had already exceeded a thousand comments.
— 【Isn't this the guy who dug up the fiber-optic cable yesterday? What a legend! Today he almost dug up a corpse, and the police made a wasted trip.】
— 【I can't stop laughing. Seeing a few people squat down to study the dummy just now almost made me spit out my drink.】
— 【Actually, it's understandable. Everyone thought it was a corpse at the time, so they were extremely cautious and didn't dare to act rashly.】
— 【Does anyone know where this person's live stream is? May a good person have a peaceful life. I really want to watch his stream; it seems so fun!】
— 【I think the funniest part was that boss. Although he looked very hot-tempered, he was quite cute. If I had a boss like that, I wouldn't slack off at work all day.】
— 【The most unfortunate boss of the year. Surviving with an employee like this is already hard enough.】
After the earlier scare, Fang Yang's mindset was actually much calmer now.
He worked without being so restrained.
Soon, another large pit was dug out.
Just as he was about to dig a bit deeper.
One shovel strike sent half a meter of red liquid splashing up from the soil.
Fang Yang stared at the red liquid on the excavator bucket, his mind going blank!
His intuition told him this was blood!
This definitely meant he had dug up something again.
The cameraman also saw the blood on the bucket; his pupils unconsciously dilated as if he had seen a ghost.
He turned his head to look at Fang Yang.
The two locked eyes, both feeling a mix of confusion and fear in their hearts.
The police had just left, and there had just been that misunderstanding; he didn't want to go through it again.
It was simply too embarrassing.
To find out exactly what had been dug up.
Fang Yang decided to dig out the soil to take a look.
With another shovel thrust deep into the ground, a large chunk of soil was lifted up.
The bucket held more than just soil.
There was also a living creature wriggling on it.
Fang Yang summoned his courage and looked closely.
He saw a python, half its body severed, embedded in the soil layer.
The python was as thick as an arm, its blood-filled maw clamped tightly onto the excavator bucket.
It was as if it knew the bucket had split it in two.
"Brother, look quickly, it's a huge python!"
Fang Yang nodded; he hadn't expected to unearth a python.
Yet why was the python here? Logically, they should prefer living in areas with water.
On one hand, food is abundant there; on the other, pythons themselves favor water.
Could there be some special reason for this?

—— 【Awesome. Yesterday you dug up a pangolin, today a python. Will you dig up a crocodile tomorrow?】
—— 【This python really had bad luck. It was hiding peacefully in the soil, only to be split in two by the streamer's shovel, that old sneak.】
—— 【Spectacular, truly spectacular. I love watching the streamer dig up strange and bizarre things. Digging soil is so boring. Keep digging; maybe there are good treasures below.】
—— 【According to my research, unearthing a python is not a good omen. The streamer is highly likely to suffer a blood-related disaster.】
—— 【Don't let its thinness fool you; it can easily eat a small lamb. If a dog encountered it, it would be dead for sure. Very dangerous.】
—— 【Fire up the wok, heat the oil, add green onions, ginger, and garlic. Brush oil on the other half, add charcoal, sprinkle cumin and pepper, and the neighbor's kids will cry from hunger.】
Fang Yang frowned as he watched the python bleeding profusely; he had a vague sense of impending doom.
Although the python is a protected national animal, he had not killed it intentionally, so logically, the blame should not fall on him.
After all, finding a snake at a construction site is quite common.
Cases of snakes being killed by shovels also occur frequently.
Most of them end without further consequence.
Most importantly, he had just called the police and did not wish to trouble them again.
