Chapter 185

As expected of Cheng Yu!

This strategy fits him well!

Being asked this, Lin Yang coughed lightly and glanced at Cheng Yu beside him!

The latter was indifferent!

In warfare, deception is the way!

Sieging a city was a difficult task to begin with; without using some means, how could one take the city without shedding blood!

"Prefect Lin, although Zhongde's strategy is good, my strategy is not this one!"

Looking at Cheng Yu with a bitter smile, having met such a ruthless person, Guo Jia even regretted coming for a moment!

"Please teach me, Fengxiao!"

Hearing that it wasn't the plague strategy, Lin Yang's eyes flashed!

If he could take Huaiyincheng with minimal cost without using a plague, he could preserve his strength to conquer Xuzhou!

"Prefect Lin, look, how many people are there in these carts of soldiers' bodies?"

Pointing at the soldiers' bodies being transported out, Guo Jia instead asked a question!

"This time, there should be about three thousand or so soldiers' bodies!"

In that battle, Lin Yang had suffered heavy casualties, and Tao Qian's side had suffered even heavier casualties!

Just the enemy bodies piled up in their camp numbered over ten thousand!

Especially those five thousand cavalrymen, many of whom had been blown to pieces!

They had been transporting three thousand or so every day for three days, and they still hadn't finished sending them!

"Then, to block the Huaiyincheng gate for a moment, how many soldiers are needed?" Guo Jia said with a light smile, his gaze looking toward the distant Huaiyincheng!

"To block the city gate for a moment, three to five hundred armored soldiers would suffice!"

Huaiyincheng was not the gateway to Xuzhou, nor was it a large city!

A mere city gate could be blocked by five hundred armored soldiers!

It's just that, wanting the other side to open the city gate wide and have his own soldiers get close!

That would be difficult!

The soldiers on the city wall wouldn't just watch foolishly!

Wait, hold on!

For a moment, Lin Yang seemed to have thought of something!

"Fengxiao, do you mean to have armored soldiers hide under the bodies, and suddenly strike when they get close to the city gate?"

Thinking of the number of bodies Guo Jia had asked about earlier, Lin Yang reacted at this moment!

That's right!

To make the other side open the city gate without knowing, and then have his own soldiers get close!

Using these bodies as cover was the best way!

With over three thousand bodies, he only needed to hide one thousand armored soldiers among them to take the city gate, and then strike all at once!

"Prefect Lin, although this strategy can break the city, there is also a certain risk!" Guo Jia said in advance!

Under normal circumstances, both sides of a battle would collect their own defeated soldiers' bodies!

It was rare to see a situation like the Battle of Huaiyin, where they directly abandoned the bodies on their side!

However!

This gave Lin Yang an opportunity!

Among the three thousand-plus bodies, as long as five hundred soldiers were hidden, wearing armor inside their clothes, they could wait for an opportunity to get close!

And they didn't need to kill the enemy!

They only needed to use the wooden carts to block the other side's city gate!

It's just!

Such a thing also had risks!

That was, once the other side discovered something unusual while transporting the bodies, it would be extremely dangerous!

Therefore!

The number of people must not be large!

And!

It must be the last batch of bodies sent!

This way, Lin Yang would have a chance to let his own soldiers leave after dropping off the wooden carts!

Reducing the physical contact generated by the soldiers' transportation!

Listening to Guo Jia's analysis, Lin Yang nodded silently!

This strategy was somewhat similar to the Trojan Horse!

However!

It had a much higher success rate than that "Trojan Horse"!

"Good, let's follow Fengxiao's strategy!"

Even if there were risks, Lin Yang had to take the gamble!

And!

This was also an opportunity to let his soldiers bring black gunpowder over!

And just as Guo Jia's strategy was being implemented, on the other side, outside Huaiyincheng!

"Hey, little brother, it's been a day, why are you all bruised and swollen?"

The soldiers responsible for transporting the bodies looked at Li Hu, who had arrived from Huaiyincheng, and couldn't help but ask curiously!

For more than two days, it had always been the same group of people coming to transport the bodies!

The soldiers under Lin Yang felt a bit of sympathy for the other side!

When they came out to transport the bodies, they could have an extra meal when they went back!

This group of people on the other side had trouble even getting enough to eat!

"This lord, let me confirm, do you really eat meat every meal, and is the treatment for surrendered soldiers also quite good?"

Li Hu ignored the other party's teasing and asked in a low voice!

Seeing the other party looking so simple and honest, for a moment, the soldiers under Lin Yang were confused!

"That's for sure, and as long as the surrendered soldiers are willing to join our army and sincerely defect to my lord, the treatment is the same as ours!"

Patting his chest, the soldiers under Lin Yang guaranteed!

This was the pride of their army!

Hearing such affirmation, Li Hu's gaze glanced at the four hundred-plus people beside him who were moved, and his expression tightened, and he decided to go all out!

"Lord, please go back and report to your lord, tomorrow when we transport the bodies back, our five hundred men will fight to the death to block the city gate, please have your lord lead the entire army to charge!"

As Li Hu's words were spoken, for a moment, the soldiers transporting the bodies were all stunned!

This, this group of people wanted to surrender?!

The military officer who had been indifferent earlier became serious and earnest at this moment!

"You want to defect to my lord?"

As the question was asked, the military officer found it hard to believe!

"That's right, the group in the city treats us harshly, we are willing to defect to Lord Lin and fight for a way to live!"

If they had a choice, Li Hu and the others wouldn't risk doing such a thing!

Once they blocked the city gate tomorrow!

How many of these five hundred men would survive!

That was an unknown!

And!

If Lin Yang didn't believe them!

They would all die!

But if they didn't gamble!

What awaited them was still death!

They weren't the elites under Tao Qian!

They didn't even have the iron armor that soldiers should have!
