Chapter 194: Escaping to Survival

~8 min read 1,408 words

The two combat robots he had modified for testing were meant to have their combat effectiveness tried out, but he hadn't expected to run into that guy, Sideswipe, the moment they appeared.

As a result, nothing was tested, and instead, those two combat robots were lost right here.

Sun Cheng could do nothing about this, because with that guy Sideswipe, he now only had one choice: "run."

"Damn it, how did that guy Sideswipe come to Earth too..."

With his head down, fleeing toward the base exit, Sun Cheng's face was already as gloomy as ink.

After absorbing the Memory Data of Frenzy, Jazz, and Blackout, the warrior he now feared most among the Autobots was one like Sideswipe.

He couldn't fight; at least, not until he replaced his body, he really couldn't fight!

Don't look at how, after equipping the Plasma Cannon, Sun Cheng had the strength to fight even when facing an Autobot warrior like Bumblebee.

But that was based on general standards!

During the long millions of years of civil war, although most Mechanical Life on Cybertron—whether Decepticon or Autobot warriors—possessed decent close-quarters combat abilities, the lethal damage of most Autobots and Decepticons came from the large-caliber, heavy-firepower weapons they were equipped with.

It is no exaggeration to say that Sun Cheng himself was a representative of this.

It was precisely by relying on the power of his newly equipped Plasma Cannon that he had the strength to severely injure the opponent last time he faced Bumblebee.

But, Sideswipe was an exception.

He was a representative of the militant faction among the Autobots, brave, reckless, and warlike; although he was also proficient in various firearms and weapons, he had personally abandoned this path of Enhancement, choosing instead to enhance his mobility and close-quarters combat capabilities.

Facing Sideswipe, Sun Cheng now had no way at all.

Once he was stuck to by the opponent, he could not guarantee he could shake them off with his speed.

If forced into close quarters, Sideswipe could easily pierce Sun Cheng's body armor by relying on his two indestructible Triangular Blade knives.

It could be said that he was now being countered to death by the opponent!

"Boom!"

An explosion sound soon came from behind; Sun Cheng knew the explosion must have come from the explosives he had just placed.

However, he also knew that although this explosion could collapse that section of the passage, it would at most make Sideswipe take a longer detour.

When the U. S. military built it, to facilitate passage, they had made the interior of the Base extend in all directions, and to facilitate the transport of Missiles, the main passages were very spacious, enough for Sideswipe to transform back into his sports car form and pursue him all the way.

His position was now locked by the opponent, and with Sideswipe's mobility, he would soon be able to catch up to him.

"Damn it!"

Earlier, for the sake of safety, after occupying this abandoned U. S. military Nuclear Missile Silo, Sun Cheng had once had the Decepticon Workers dig two new escape passages for him.

One of these two hidden passages was located on the other side of the Base and was over twenty kilometers long; it had taken the Workers quite a bit of effort to dig it out, and it was also the place Sun Cheng was currently rushing to.

It could be said that as long as he could reach that place and transform back into his drone form, he could fully shake off Sideswipe's pursuit.

But to get there from here, he only needed two minutes.

The other passage was the exact opposite; its entrance was inside Laboratory One, and the passage was less than two kilometers long, leading into the Nuclear Missile Silo.

That's right, it was the same Silo that Ironhide had passed through when entering the Base.

I'm afraid no one would have thought that Sun Cheng would have the Workers dig a passage, and the exit of that hidden passage would actually be somewhere on the wall of this Silo.

His Brain spinning rapidly, his face was gloomy and uncertain.

The Core, with its scanning function fully open, had already begun to beat violently as Sideswipe drew closer.

Sun Cheng now had to give up on heading to the safe passage he had prepared long ago, because within two minutes, he would definitely be caught by Sideswipe.

However, he could not determine the safety of the other passage either.

The previous explosion had destroyed all the surveillance equipment he had placed outside the Nuclear Missile Silo, and Sun Cheng now had no way to determine any situation outside.

And it was from that Silo he had tampered with that Ironhide had entered the Base, which made him somewhat worried about whether there were still ambushes outside.

Hesitating for only a dozen seconds, Sun Cheng had to make a decision; he waved his hand to release a team of Micro-reconnaissance Drones, ordering them to fly toward the Silo.

As for him, he turned and rushed toward Laboratory One.

Sideswipe arrived faster than he had imagined; Sun Cheng had just rushed to the location of the Laboratory when he immediately heard a huge roar of an engine.

Looking up, his line of sight immediately discovered a silver-gray Chevrolet sports car rushing straight toward him from the other side of the passage, twenty-some meters away.

Sun Cheng's face changed slightly; he hurriedly summoned his Plasma Cannon and raised his hand to fire a shot toward that side.

"Boom..."

The incoming shelling made the Chevrolet sports car leap up; it not only nimbly dodged his shot but also completed its transformation in mid-air.

"Hey, Decepticon small fry. Hand over Mudflap..."

Feeling the pressure rushing toward him, Sun Cheng's face changed slightly; after raising his hand and firing two more shots in succession, he suddenly rolled on the ground, and after getting close to the entrance of the Laboratory, he immediately rushed inside.

"Where are you preparing to escape to..."

Still nimbly dodging Sun Cheng's shelling, Sideswipe brandished his two Triangular Blade knives, his eyes carrying a blood-colored light, and followed his figure as he rushed into the Laboratory.

Just as he entered the empty Laboratory, Sideswipe's eyes couldn't help but narrow.

Without waiting for any attack from Sun Cheng, within his line of sight, Sun Cheng had already run at full speed to the other side of the Laboratory, and it looked as if he had already opened up a distance of dozens of meters between them.

"Let's see where you can run!"

Laughing coldly, he brandished the blade in his right hand, surprisingly not transforming back into his vehicle form.

After assuming a running posture, Sideswipe's feet were as if they had stepped on ice skates; surprisingly, in his combat form, he pursued forward with a whistling wind at a speed that was in no way inferior to his sports car form.

"Damn..."

The whistling wind behind him didn't need the Core to remind him; Sun Cheng also realized how dangerous he was now.

Unable to help but curse, with his life hanging by a thread, how could he still feel heartache over energy consumption? He turned around and raised his hand to fire two shots, only to find that he couldn't stop Sideswipe's approach at all.

Sun Cheng simply gritted his teeth, took two more Decepticon Workers out of his Spherical Space, and tossed them aside.

Then, he himself rushed at full speed into the hidden passage located at the end of Laboratory One.

The two Decepticon Workers, after being summoned by Sun Cheng from the Spherical Space, had already had their consciousnesses re-Awakened by him.

Having just opened their eyes and not yet reacted, the two unlucky guys heard a cold snort.

Subconsciously, they all turned their heads to look at the same time; within their field of vision, two strange triangular blades had already arrived right before them.

Before they could react, Sideswipe had already stabbed through the chests of two Decepticon Workers, one with each blade, and lifted them up in front of himself.

A ferocious smile appeared on his face; his gaze lingered on the two Workers for only an instant before he flung them away.

Looking back toward the tunnel entrance where Sun Cheng had disappeared, Sideswipe quickly continued the pursuit, leaving behind only a low and narcissistic remark, "I am so f***ing strong!"
