Chapter 34: A Stunning Shot

~7 min read 1,396 words

The group soon drove out of the Missile warehouse and headed toward the Starscream Base.

Sun Cheng looked outside through the windshield and couldn't help but gasp.

He had previously felt that the combat power of the Decepticons was off the charts, and now, looking at the tragic state within the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, he took another long breath for it.

Barricade was one thing; having defected from the Autobots to the Decepticon camp, he clearly hadn't been doing as well as one might imagine.

This point was actually not hard to guess; just imagine, even the low-level Decepticons of the Camera Trio were equipped with heavy firepower, yet Barricade had none, possessing only a weapon full of steel spikes that, while indestructible, was far inferior to Onslaught in terms of lethality.

Most of the miserable, hell-like base before his eyes now had been caused by Onslaught. His terrifying large gun, with a rate of fire that definitely exceeded the speed of sound, was comparable to a legendary electromagnetic cannon; one shot fired resulted in an explosion, making him practically a humanoid self-propelled artillery piece. "Trouble..."

Onslaught suddenly projected the image of a crude-looking middle-aged white man wearing denim overalls and a dirty undershirt onto the driver's seat, his brows furrowed.

"Lord Onslaught, what's wrong?" Sun Cheng asked curiously.

"Bonecrusher sent a remote communication for help; he has been pinned down by human reinforcements and is currently in a bitter fight..."

Onslaught was somewhat annoyed; the personnel arrangements in the plan Sun Cheng had previously proposed were actually made by him.

If they had followed Onslaught's plan, letting the faster Barricade and Reflector go to another military base to create a diversion, while he, Bonecrusher, and Sun Cheng went together, there would have been a high probability of avoiding being pinned down.

Sun Cheng's heart sank upon hearing this; he had already learned from Onslaught that Bonecrusher could transform into a heavy armored mine-clearing vehicle and was far inferior to Barricade and Onslaught in terms of speed.

Now that he heard Bonecrusher was pinned down, he immediately realized the severity of the problem; if no one rushed to support him, that guy would likely be in trouble.

"What about Reflector? Does Lord Barricade know?" he hurriedly asked.

"Reflector? That disgusting crawler ran away as soon as he saw the situation was bad..." Onslaught's tone was somewhat heavy. "I have already informed Barricade; he does not agree to a rescue and wants us to send the Nuclear Warhead back to the base as soon as possible!"

This was consistent with his understanding of Reflector and Barricade!

However, Sun Cheng was still very hesitant about whether to return to Starscream's base with Onslaught and Barricade.

Everyone who had come into contact with Starscream knew what kind of person he was; he was an ambitious warlord with a heart higher than the heavens and a proud, conceited nature. He had even dared to betray the former Decepticon Leader Megatron time and again; perhaps, other than himself, Starscream would not trust anyone.

This guy had racked his brains to snatch a few Nuclear Warheads from the humans; Sun Cheng didn't even need to think hard to guess that he must have a motive, and a significant one at that.

Now that he had helped him complete the Task, although Starscream knew on the surface that he had been stabbed in the back by Soundwave, it was hard to guarantee that this guy wouldn't burn bridges.

The more Sun Cheng thought about it, the more he felt that he could not let all four Nuclear Warheads be handed over to Starscream.

He immediately asked Onslaught tentatively: "Then, Lord Onslaught. Are we going back to the base now, or are we going to save Lord Bonecrusher?"

Onslaught was silent for a long while before suddenly asking him: "Since you are here, has Soundwave also arrived on Earth?"

"Lord Soundwave is still at the Base on the Moon, but he sent Laserbeak to contact me two days ago!"

"Oh?" Onslaught was somewhat surprised, then his face showed sudden realization. "So Starscream didn't lie to me; sure enough, the AllSpark must be on Earth!"

He thought for a moment before continuing: "I don't know what Starscream wants with the Nuclear Warheads, but letting this madman control such weapons of mass destruction will never lead to anything good! I am going to save Bonecrusher, and by the way, deal with the two Nuclear Warheads!"

When he finished, his tone had a somewhat indescribable meaning to it, but unfortunately, Sun Cheng couldn't fathom it, nor could he understand what he was thinking.

However, Onslaught's plan to run away coincided with Sun Cheng's own thoughts, so he immediately echoed: "I was previously sent by Lord Soundwave to assist Lord Barricade in finding information on Leader Megatron and the AllSpark. This time, I have already wasted a lot of time for Lord Starscream's operation. Since Lord Onslaught is going to save someone, why not take me along!"

Finally, fearing that Onslaught would not agree, he didn't forget to remind him, "I can contact Laserbeak and have him come to help!"

Since arriving on Earth two days ago, Laserbeak had been trying to contact him.

Sun Cheng had originally followed Starscream's arrangement and sent out the intelligence that his base was located in Tucson.

Based on his understanding of Laserbeak, this guy would definitely be lurking nearby until he saw him.

And although Laserbeak had suffered at the hands of Soundwave just like him, after being resurrected, he not only retained his flight ability, but speed was also his strong suit.

Sun Cheng had no doubt that as long as he sent a signal now, that guy would arrive in the shortest possible time.

Sure enough, Onslaught thought for a moment and did not refuse to take him along.

He first sent a communication to Barricade, and then, ignoring Barricade's opposition as he repeatedly changed lanes to try to stop him, he turned the front of the vehicle and drove toward the direction where Bonecrusher was calling for help, leaving only Barricade behind, who angrily transformed back into his robot form and stayed in place for a while. It wasn't until Sun Cheng and the others were almost out of sight that this guy transformed back into his police car form and headed toward Starscream's Base, carrying the two snatched Nuclear Warheads.

After Barricade could no longer be seen in the distance, Sun Cheng greeted Onslaught, then sent a remote communication to Laserbeak and informed him of his current location.

Three or four minutes later, accompanied by a sharp electronic sound suddenly coming from the sky, he looked up and sure enough saw a giant bird-like robot with two Machine Guns hanging under its belly flying above Onslaught.

"Lord Onslaught, please open a door and let me up!"

Onslaught readily opened a skylight above the cockpit to let him leave the cockpit. When he saw Sun Cheng's figure, Laserbeak, with a somewhat unfriendly expression, circled and hesitated for a while before landing next to him as well, asking Sun Cheng: "Why did you only come to see me now..."

"I might have been detected by Starscream when I sent the interstellar communication. Since then, he has had Barricade watching me, and I only took the opportunity to run out tonight after I helped him complete the Task!"

"What Task? Who is he?"

"This guy is Onslaught; Starscream wants human nuclear weapons! We snatched four in total; two were taken away by Barricade, and two are now being kept by him!"

"..."

Laserbeak was about to ask more when suddenly his and Sun Cheng's expressions changed in unison; one took flight with a flap of wings, and the other scrambled down from the front of the car.

The next moment, a Laser beam suddenly landed next to Onslaught, who had made an emergency evasive maneuver, blasting a huge crater into the asphalt road.

"Enemy attack!"

Onslaught roared and suddenly transformed back into his robot form, holding a large gun and firing a shot fiercely toward the distance.

Sun Cheng, who had rolled on the ground several times before standing up again, hurriedly looked in the direction he was shooting, but only vaguely saw a bright yellow figure speeding away into the distance; it seemed to be a sports car?
