Chapter 132: 128 Seamless Connection
The dial turned, and the main interface changed.
Star Grant: 9.
Fusion: 10/20.
Fusion! The next feature is Fusion!
Qi Ming felt excited—was this the kind of fusion I was thinking of?
Like Ultraman Ace combining into Ultraman Taro, or Gao Si and Jiesi joining to form Reijieduo, or Sai Luo, Dai Na, and Gao Si merging into Sai Jia?
“Do I need twenty different types to unlock this feature? And fusion must require synthesis materials.”
For example, to fuse into Ultraman Ginga, I’d need six newly generated Ultramen, all unlocked to their final forms, inside the Any Key.
“Let’s first check what this ‘Amplification’ is.”
After de-transforming, Qi Ming sat on a flowerbed to rest and examined the “Amplification” feature.
“During battle, you can temporarily boost your combat power using Star Grants stored in the Any Key, lasting three minutes.”
“After three minutes, the Star Grants return to their original state.”
“Combat power refers to strength, speed, defense, and energy combined, right?”
“But one Star Grant only increases combat power by 1%. Even with full-spectrum enhancement, a maximum of 10% is too weak!”
Qi Ming thought this feature, while useful for utilizing idle Star Grants, was underwhelming.
“Wait—this can be used without transforming! Even in human form, I can be amplified!”
“And there’s a supplemental note—as the Any Key upgrades, it will unlock ‘Second-Stage Amplification,’ where one Star Grant increases combat power by 10%.”
“That’s better—worth looking forward to.”
“I’ll soon have enough Star Grants for a new Star Gathering. I wonder what it’ll be this time—hopefully it won’t mess with me again.”
In Qi Ming’s view, the first two Star Gatherings gave him nothing but air and Jazot—he was no longer just unlucky, he was cursed.
“Hey, Qi Ming, what are you doing here? Aren’t you cold?!” His teammate approached.
With Homugar, the volcanic heat source, gone, Tokyo rapidly returned to its November temperature, cooling swiftly.
Added to the recently fired freeze missile, half the street was now frozen, heavy cold permeating the air.
Even in the highly heat- and cold-resistant Victory Team uniform, Zhu Xingtuan shivered—he hated the cold most.
“Good thing it got so hot these past days—now we can cool off.” Qi Ming once again masked his fatigue.
Xitiao Ning warned: “Watch out for catching a chill.”
Hui Mei blinked: “That situation was extremely dangerous—millions of Tokyo citizens almost died. We owe it all to Ultraman Gaia.”
She shifted tone: “Soldier Qi Ming, do you think our freeze missile helped you at all?”
Qi Ming: “?”
Is this a test? Thank goodness I reacted fast—if I hadn’t, I’d have fallen right into the trap.
Qi Ming: “Of course it helped. Since we’re a team, when you fight, it’s as if I’m fighting too—I can relax guilt-free.”
His tone was calm and natural.
Kishida laughed: “That’s some bold logic. But we can’t keep carrying your share of the fighting—you should start learning how to pilot.”
“With your aptitude, it should be easy to pick up.”
Qi Ming was glad Kishida changed the subject: “Actually, I’ve already figured it out.”
Shan Zhong added in a gossiping tone: “You know, Yokogawa Hiro didn’t die, but both his legs were crushed. Matsumoto Saburo’s hostage, Yuriko, lost her right hand to burns. What a conclusion…”
Qi Ming pushed him away in disgust: “Snow Leopard, shut up. Too much of this melodrama lowers your IQ.”
Still, he thought the ending was fine—he hoped these two “perfectly matched” disabled people would stay together and never harm anyone else.
Xitiao Ning added that the real topic now was cleaning up the battlefield.
The frozen street, Homugar’s scattered fangs, the corpse of the monster bird Tairoches, and its nest built atop the villa—this cleanup would be a massive undertaking.
“You handle it.” Qi Ming, exhausted from prolonged high-intensity combat, yawned and prepared to return to base and sleep.
Two monsters just died—surely now there’d be some quiet time.
“Thud… thud… thud…” Heavy footsteps echoed from afar.
Everyone froze—how could anyone be here in this cold?
Seeing the figure, Kishida exclaimed: “It’s a yellow tin man!”
Qi Ming immediately recognized the figure—it was the small [Gobnyu] from Episode 19 of Ultraman Tiga, “Rush to Space.”
This thing appearing on Earth means the Magus Power System has been completed.
Just now… damn, the timing is perfect!
“Hey, what are you? Stop!” Xitiao Ning immediately aimed his gun at Gobnyu.
Gobnyu slowly turned its head at the sound, then trudged toward them with stiff steps.
“Stop! I’ll shoot if you come closer!” Sniper Shan Zhong also leveled his weapon.
Kishida: “No life signs—it’s a robot!”
Xitiao Ning fired immediately. Gobnyu stiffened upon impact and slowly toppled over.
Shan Zhong chuckled: “One shot down? Sending such a fragile robot is useless.”
Kishida and Hui Mei approached to inspect—and both turned pale.
“This robot’s empty inside!”
“No parts inside—how is it moving?!”
Zhu Xingtuan’s PDI communicator rang—headquarters reported these robots appearing across Tokyo’s streets.
“We’ve got a busy night ahead! To prevent panic, we must stop these robots.” Zhu Xingtuan said.
Under Zhu Xingtuan’s command, the team split up and headed to each location where robots appeared, knocking them down.
After the team left, Fujinaga Hiroya appeared in black clothing.
He stared at the gruesome corpse of Tairoches, then at Homugar’s fallen fangs:
“Humans, to survive, destroy other monsters that originally lived on Earth.”
“Qi Ming, is this really all you want to protect?!”
He gazed toward the location of TPC’s ocean base, his eyes flickering, lost in thought.
………………………………
The Victory Team fought robots all night, finally knocking down every active Gobnyu on the streets.
Everyone else was utterly drained, on the verge of collapse—yet Qi Ming’s stamina was fully restored.
Compared to the massive energy drain of transforming into an Ultraman, this human-form exercise was pure relaxation.
He tested the “Amplification” feature—9% full-spectrum enhancement was clearly noticeable, delighting him.
“Tell the recovery team: don’t transport these Gobnyu robots back to the ocean base.”
“Don’t store them together—keep them separated.”
“Best to scatter them: some in Tokyo, some in Hokkaido, some in America, some in space.”
This was to prevent Gobnyu from using the “Trojan Horse” tactic from the original plot—many small Gobnyu merging into one giant one inside the base to launch a surprise attack.
Qi Ming’s image as “clairvoyant” and “predictive” was already deeply rooted; Counselor Quan Teng and He Zhi had no objections and immediately followed his orders.
