Chapter 67: 65 Evil Begets Evil

~6 min read 1,118 words

Although the crew felt pity, they had nothing to say at this moment.

If we attack the giant turtle to protect them, hundreds of Earth monsters might riot to avenge it, and even more people would die.

Qi Ming: “There is only one way for you to survive—return the giant turtle’s eggs yourselves and beg for their forgiveness.”

Captain: “But the eggs are with Kurosaki and his men.”

Qi Ming: “Those who do wrong must pay the price. To make amends, you must take real action.”

The captain and first mate exchanged grim looks, then went to consult the other crew members.

That night, the captain and first mate brought a bottle of clear sake to Kurosaki’s room.

Kurosaki was currently plotting his “revenge plan” with his assistant.

He claimed to know a reporter named “Hirakawa,” whose reports were highly incendiary; if he told him everything, all members of the Victory Team would be ruined.

The captain hesitated before speaking: “Mr. Kurosaki, please return the turtle eggs.”

Kurosaki stared in shock: “What are you talking about? We’ve spent so much time and money—now that the turtle queen is gone, if we lose the eggs too, all our efforts will be wasted!”

The captain said the hives might truly be the turtle’s curse, and they shouldn’t stubbornly persist.

Kurosaki: “Captain, don’t listen to those Victory Team fools—they know nothing. When we return to Tokyo, I’ll show them what real consequences look like.”

The captain pleaded earnestly, but Kurosaki refused to accept total loss.

Finally, both sides broke down completely; the captain smashed his cup on the floor: “Don’t make me force you to drink the punishment!”

The door burst open again—crew members, unable to bear the itching, appeared, demanding to seize the eggs.

The capture team refused to let their efforts go in vain; they worked for Kurosaki because they shared in the profits from selling the eggs.

But they had been beaten unconscious by Qi Ming during the day and could do nothing but watch helplessly.

Kurosaki, obsessed with wealth, clung tightly to one giant egg—but after a powerful kick to the back of his head from the first mate, he fainted again and let go.

“Will this cause a concussion?” the captain asked as they left.

“Who cares? As long as we survive,” the first mate replied.

Following Qi Ming’s instructions, they sailed back to Oulongdao and found the furious turtle queen, weeping blood, howling to the sky.

“My god, this turtle is enormous—it’s already a monster level.”

“How dare Kurosaki and his crew provoke something like this? They’ve dragged us into this!”

The crew muttered curses under their breath; the turtle queen, seeing those bearing the “mark of death,” turned her eyes red and charged to kill them.

“Please spare us! Your children were stolen by Kurosaki—we’ve brought them back!”

The captain and first mate placed the four turtle eggs on the sand and led the crew in kowtowing before the turtle queen.

But the turtle queen refused to forgive those who ate her children; her rage remained fierce, and the crew trembled in terror.

At that moment, Qi Ming stepped forward, standing between the turtle queen and the crew.

“They had only an employer-employee relationship with Kurosaki. Without them, others would have served him under profit’s drive. Please punish only the mastermind.”

Compared to the trembling crew, Qi Ming remained calm and composed, and his demeanor actually made the turtle queen halt.

“This guy is the coolest person I’ve ever seen,” muttered one crew member, gazing at Qi Ming’s fearless, dignified presence.

Eventually, the turtle queen retrieved the eggs and spat a stream of water onto the crew.

“So refreshing! My god, the itching is gone!”

“Captain, your hives have disappeared.”

“Mine too—the curse is gone.”

Some crew members kowtowed again in thanks, but the turtle queen ignored them entirely, carrying her children back to the center of Oulongdao.

“What a benevolent creature—to spare the accomplices,” Qi Ming mused.

One crew member looked around: “Hey, where’s the turtle king?”

Qi Ming: “He’s probably handling business. Good and evil always meet their due.”

…………………………

After quarreling with the captain of the Fourth Sakura Maru, Kurosaki and his group, barely able to walk, quickly switched ships and returned to Japan.

“Damn it! It’s all their fault—we got nothing!”

The agony of returning empty-handed made Kurosaki’s heart bleed.

Throughout the journey, he swore that once ashore, he would destroy the Victory Team and the crew’s reputations, turning them into pariahs.

“We’ll sue them in court—make them go to jail!” Kurosaki’s assistant echoed the same fury.

At that moment, a massive shadow circled overhead, flying toward them.

“What is that? A UFO?!”

Kurosaki raised his telescope—and turned pale: “It’s the turtle from Oulongdao—it can fly!”

The turtle king arrived to seek vengeance!

It flew above the capture team like a bomber and opened its mouth, spitting out several red spheres.

These were [Ball-shaped Flame Bombs]—equivalent to powerful explosives!

“No! It’s coming for us!”

The spheres exploded among the capture team; flames spread, and the group screamed in the fire, reduced to charred corpses.

…………………………

“Finally dead,” Qi Ming said upon hearing the news, unsurprised—he knew this wasn’t over.

In the original Ultraman Taro series, an officer named Shi Misi viewed the giant turtle as a thorn in his side.

As the turtle couple returned to Oulongdao, he dispatched a fleet to bombard it; the entire island was flattened, and most of the eggs destroyed.

The turtle queen protected one egg in her mouth, but her head was accidentally hit by shrapnel, driving her into a frenzy. She stormed into Tokyo, wreaking havoc to avenge her kind.

Hikaru Kotaro transformed into Ultraman Taro and fought the turtle queen; to protect innocent civilians, he was forced to kill her with the Stream Beam.

The last egg hatched into a tiny turtle that pressed its head against its dead mother’s, sobbing toward Taro—a scene that once shattered young Qi Ming’s heart.

Based on information from Hui Mei, Qi Ming discovered that this officer named “Shi Misi” was active in this world, currently serving in the Defense Force.

Hui Mei: “Oulongdao falls under Shi Misi’s jurisdiction. He’s long believed the giant turtle obstructs Defense Force ships and submarines.”

“Now that the turtle has killed people, he finally has an excuse to eliminate them.”

Time was running out; Qi Ming prepared to visit Aizan Makoto.

“Wait—what’s this? So beautiful!” Another report arrived.

Night had fallen; the residents of Shenjindao witnessed an unbelievable sight—light scattered like snowflakes.

When the footage was projected onto the big screen, Qi Ming’s expression changed.

This was the Chaos Virus from Ultraman Gaos! It had come too!
