Chapter 70: 68 Good Death, Time to Pop the Champagne

~6 min read 1,161 words

At this moment, in the CEO’s office of Airen Technology.

Airen Makoto was sprinting on a treadmill, releasing the turbulent emotions within him.

His mind was filled with thoughts: “The gears of fate have begun to turn—I shall step onto the world’s stage with the glory of a hero.”

“Inspiration strikes again! Charge forward, ride the wind and break the waves! Darling, add that line to my ‘Quotes Collection.’”

A small robot flew over—Airen Technology’s AI—with a pleasant female voice: “‘Charge forward, ride the wind and break the waves.’ Registered.”

After finishing his run, Airen Makoto wiped his sweat with a towel and began envisioning the future:

“Place the Giant Turtle family by the seaside—it’ll be convenient for animal lovers to come interview them.”

“Then I’ll stand beneath the Giant Turtle’s feet, letting them film the heroic image of humans and kaiju living in harmony!”

AI Darling: “Regarding the Giant Turtle, according to the latest update, Japan’s Defense Force has deployed warships to eliminate the Giant Turtle on Oulongdao.”

“Nani!” Airen Makoto’s voice made the entire office tremble.

Darling: “The reason given is that the Giant Turtle has killed people, prevents warships and submarines from sailing safely, and interferes with military exercises.”

Airen Makoto: “These are all excuses fabricated by villains!”

He pulled out the Spin Flash: “If they want to kill my precious turtle, this isn’t just any Defense Force—they must be crushed with overwhelming force!”

…………………………

On the other side, despite Qi Ming’s firm words, Shoxing Tuan still dared not act.

In his view, the Defense Force and TPC were allies protecting Earth’s peace; though occasional friction occurred, their overall goals aligned.

But if they opened fire directly, the situation would become grave—only benefiting alien invaders who would reap the rewards of their conflict.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!” The next moment, eight warships fired simultaneously, launching devastating shells toward the Giant Turtle on the beach.

In the original plot, the two Giant Turtles, unable to retaliate to protect their eggs, could only endure the bombardment passively.

They first stood up to shield their family with their bodies, then helplessly huddled together.

Shoxing Tuan: “Fine, I’ll use my Ultraman Psychic Force to sink these shells to the ocean floor.”

Qi Ming: “Useless. Their warships carry ample ammunition—how many rounds can you block? Unless you sink the warships themselves, it’ll never end.”

He turned the dial, preparing to transform.

“Shhh!” A figure shot across the horizon.

It was Boga Ru! Drawn by the massive noise and energy fluctuations.

It spread its wings and swallowed all the shells—but soon its body trembled violently.

Clearly, this energy was hard to digest.

The next instant, furious, Boga Ru dove like an eagle toward the eight warships.

It sank the central warship, then, like the Monkey-Eating Eagle from “Black Cat Chief,” reached inside and devoured the crew whole.

“Bad! It’s a kaiju!”

“Such a powerful kaiju! Open fire!”

The remaining seven warships quickly turned their cannons—but their attacks had no effect on Boga Ru.

Qi Ming inside Fly Yan One: “Strange—they came here to fight kaiju, so why are they so terrified now that the target changed?”

Clearly, they’re just bullies who pick on the weak and cower before the strong.

Shoxing Tuan: “Is now the time for idle talk? Transform!”

Qi Ming: “The number you’ve dialed is currently out of service area. Please try again later.”

In his view, Japan’s Defense Force here carried a strong militaristic stench. Killing them all would kill innocents; killing only half would surely leave survivors.

So I’ll just put my phone on hold—sometimes not acting is also a kind of kindness.

“You!” Shoxing Tuan was furious at Qi Ming’s indifference but powerless to stop him.

Their time together had taught him that Qi Ming was a man of strong convictions—once decided, no persuasion could sway him.

He wanted to help, but Qi Ming pressed his shoulder, stopping him: “The Defense Force personnel seem too numerous—this isn’t good.”

“Boom!” Soon, Boga Ru sank all the warships—some crew were eaten, others jumped into the sea to escape.

After dealing with them, Boga Ru turned and faced the two Giant Turtles on Oulongdao’s beach.

The Turtle King and Turtle Queen, who had felt nothing as eight warships aimed at them, now tensed up.

The Turtle King shielded the Turtle Queen behind him; the Turtle Queen protected the four eggs behind her.

“Planning to devour the Turtle King and Queen? Let’s settle the score from your last ambush on me—Gaia!” Qi Ming turned the dial again and pressed it.

“Shhh!” A crimson glow burst in the sky—Gaia Ultraman reappeared!

He landed heavily in the sea, sending up towering waves, shielding the Giant Turtles behind him.

“Uhh…” The two Giant Turtles, seeing Gaia, calmed significantly—their fear eased.

“Roar!” Boga Ru charged without hesitation, its speed blurring into afterimages.

It intended to complete what it had failed to do last time—swallow Gaia!

“Face-to-face, one-on-one? You’re only fit to be my punching bag!”

Qi Ming spun midair and delivered a powerful side kick to Boga Ru’s abdomen, nearly knocking it to its knees—its first assault met with a crushing counter from Gaia.

Boga Ru’s physical resilience was exceptional; it recovered instantly, flapped its wings, and launched a high aerial kick straight at Gaia’s face.

Qi Ming leaned back to evade, then as Boga Ru landed, struck its head with a right straight punch, followed immediately by a left hook.

Boga Ru absorbed the first blow and barely retreated to dodge the second.

Qi Ming instantly followed with a high sweeping kick to its head—Boga Ru blocked it with its forearm.

From this point, Boga Ru was forced into defensive mode.

Qi Ming seized the opening, locked his arms around its neck, then drove his left knee upward into its abdomen with full force.

As he lowered his left leg, his right knee prepared to strike—Boga Ru instinctively raised its hands to block.

“Of course—a simple-minded fool. If it had bent forward and braced its arms, it could’ve compressed my knee’s striking space and blocked it.”

“But raising its hands directly? That leaves its entire upper body wide open.”

Qi Ming instantly switched to an elbow strike to its head, sending Boga Ru reeling with stars in its eyes.

From the start of combat to now, Gaia had completely dominated—exactly as Qi Ming had expected.

In the original “Mirai” plot, Boga Ru matched Mirai and Hikari in strength, speed, and psychic abilities, easily overpowering and devouring massive kaiju through brute force.

But it lacked combat technique, often caught off-guard by Mirai’s rapid combo attacks.

Base Mirai and Gaia V1 were roughly equal in power—what Mirai could do, I, Qi Ming, have no reason to fail at.

“Shhh…” At that moment, a rainbow-hued light cluster surged from the horizon, rushing toward the Turtle King and Turtle Queen.

“It’s the Light Virus!” Shoxing Tuan fired his Spikes Cannon—but this energy was useless against the Chaos Virus.
