Chapter 76: 74 Victory Team vs Defense Force

~6 min read 1,068 words

Here, the adults were drawn and ready to fight; there, the children slipped through unnoticed.

They crouched low, sneaking quietly to the shore.

Goi kept urging all along: “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?”

“We’re here. Right here,” Iida Osamu extended his index finger, pointing at the sea below.

“Can you really catch a big fish in a place like this?” The other three children were deeply skeptical.

The next moment, the sea surface where Iida pointed rippled violently, boiling as if it were on fire.

A massive black shadow appeared beneath the water, rapidly expanding in the pupils of the four children, then bursting through the surface with towering waves.

The girl gasped: “There really is a giant fish here!”

Goi: “This isn’t just a big fish—it’s a monster!”

Iida Osamu: “The monster’s coming straight for us—run!”

At that moment, he trembled, for this giant fish looked exactly like the one kept in his home—simply a scaled-up version!

…………………………

“Look! The monster’s appeared—what a huge fish!”

“It’s not Rayilos—it’s another fish-like monster. Was it also lured by the ultrasonic lure device?”

“Look! Four children are being chased by it!”

“Wasn’t this area sealed off? How did they even get out here!”

Koda watched this scene, nearly frantic. Qi Ming was right—you can’t underestimate “human biological diversity!”

With the great enemy before him, Ryūjun also had to abandon his plan to reprimand Qi Ming. He raised his hand cannon, aiming at the giant fish: “Any monster must be destroyed!”

Qi Ming stared at the monster fish: “So it’s you. That O-wave was calling for you.”

This giant fish is called [Angulas], appearing in Episode 34 of “Ultraman Ace,” titled “I Caught a Strange Fish.”

In the original episode, Angulas’s offspring swam to the surface and was caught in a local fisherman’s net, forcing it to continuously emit O-waves to summon its mother.

Upon sensing her child had been taken, Mother Angulas followed the trail of O-waves to the shore, searching for her offspring.

When the child returned safely, Angulas ceased fighting, and mother and child together returned to the deep sea.

“Cease fire! It’s not here to destroy the city—once it finds its child, it will stop!”

Qi Ming raised his hand to block Ryūjun’s cannon barrel, signaling the police bureau to rescue the four children.

Nami Nishijō frowned and joined the rescue team.

“Any monster must be destroyed! If you don’t take your hand away, I’ll blow it all to hell!” Ryūjun snarled.

Qi Ming said nothing—he snatched the hand cannon and snapped it over his leg like a “Naihai Broken Cane.”

Ryūjun’s eyes widened in utter disbelief.

He had gripped the weapon tightly, yet still lost it under overwhelming force.

That strength. That speed. That body hardness… Is this even human?

Seeing Qi Ming seize the weapon, the other soldiers immediately raised their rifles at him: “What are you doing? Stand down!”

“I dislike being pointed at with guns—even unloaded ones.” Qi Ming raised his hand; a stack of magazines clattered to the ground.

“How is that possible! When did you…?” The soldiers were horrified—their magazines had truly vanished.

Seeing his men trembling, Ryūjun’s earlier arrogance was crushed.

He stared at Qi Ming in shock, not daring to make a move. Even Emi wore a ghostly expression—she had been watching Qi Ming closely but hadn’t seen how he did it.

Yamana and Koda, seeing Qi Ming disarm the entire Defense Force at a glance, immediately stepped to his left and right, standing like the “Three Brothers Under the Moon,” towering over the Defense Force.

Yamana: “It’s clear our Victory Team’s average ability far exceeds yours. Now tell me, how can you still claim we’re inferior?”

Koda looked at Ryūjun: “You just said strength is everything. Now Qi Ming’s strength surpasses all of you combined. Shouldn’t you follow your own logic and obey him?”

Ryūjun’s face turned ashen. He said nothing.

Nami Nishijō and two police officers returned with the four children, still pale with fear. Yamana scolded: “Are you trying to die? How dare you enter a sealed zone!”

Qi Ming raised his hand: “Not now. We’ll settle this later.”

He glanced at Angulas crashing against the shore, then asked the four children: “Have you seen a fish that looks just like the monster?”

Goi: “I remember! The fish in Osamu’s house is an exact copy of the monster!”

Qi Ming nodded: “That’s its offspring. The monster came here to find its child.”

Iida Osamu turned green, realizing he’d caused a catastrophe: “What? No way!”

Qi Ming: “Emi, take this child. Drive—no, take Fly Yan One directly to his house. Bring that fish here immediately.”

Emi nodded: “Alright. But when did you find out about this?”

Qi Ming made a “fingers-calculating” gesture, speaking in a mysterious tone: “Where the heart reaches, heaven’s secrets follow.”

Nami Nishijō helped, hauling Iida Osamu toward Fly Yan One and tossing him into the rear seat.

“How do we handle this?” Moroboshi approached Qi Ming, pointing at Angulas, which was thrashing wildly along the shore.

Qi Ming: “Leave it for now. It can’t get ashore anyway.”

The prior lockdown had worked—the sea had no fishing boats, and Angulas couldn’t cause damage.

“Boom!” As he spoke, the sea boiled again, and a massive green figure burst forth.

It was Rayilos—it had finally arrived!

“Damn! This one can get ashore!” Qi Ming’s expression changed.

The Victory Team immediately opened fire—Charlotte Car, Drumm Car, and Fly Yan One all fired, trying to drive Rayilos back into the sea.

But Rayilos was determined to come ashore and wreak havoc, advancing through the barrage.

“What are you waiting for? Your Fly Yan Two should carry a powerful laser cannon—just blast it now!”

Ryūjun, who had been silent from shame, couldn’t hold back anymore and spoke up again.

Yamana unleashed his talent for mockery: “You’ve got no say here. We’ll handle it. And don’t even think of using your tanks—those attacks are barely enough to tickle a monster.”

“Boom!” Rayilos, covered in hardened scales, forced its way ashore despite the firepower.

Thinking of its radioactive cellular tissue, everyone felt disaster loomed.

“Fine. I’ll handle it.” Qi Ming slipped quietly into a deserted public restroom by the shore.

“Please, my one-yuan god!” He turned the dial, then gently pressed down.

A radiant light surged skyward—Ultraman Tiga appeared, shoving Rayilos back into the sea.
