Chapter 77: 75 Facing the Mad Dog-Like Defense Force, Qi Ming After Transformation Chooses

~6 min read 1,149 words

“Look, the giant!”

“It’s Ultraman Tiga!”

Seeing the giant appear, everyone perked up and immediately stopped attacking, afraid of hitting him.

From his hiding spot, Xiang Tenggong’s eyes sharpened by threefold upon seeing Tiga.

“Damn it.” Standing on the seabed facing Reiylos, Qi Ming cursed inwardly.

Just as he lacked aerial combat experience, he had no underwater combat experience—the water’s resistance made him nauseous and he couldn’t adapt.

But Reiylos was truly “like a fish in water,” completely unimpeded.

It launched rapid strikes at Tiga with agile movements, leaving Qi Ming struggling to defend.

The next moment, Angulas also charged at Tiga, knocking him onto the seabed.

“It wasn’t me who took your child—why are you taking it out on me?” Qi Ming gritted his teeth.

The next instant, Reiylos sprang up with both feet and slammed down onto Tiga with the force of a mountain descending, worsening Qi Ming’s predicament.

“Tiga doesn’t seem to know how to swim,” Nishijo Nagi immediately noticed.

She piloted Feiyan One, diving into the fray at a perilous angle, dodging Reiylos’s bubbles, and firing a peak cannon that froze Reiylos in place.

Seizing the opportunity, Qi Ming quickly rose to his feet, facing both monsters.

“If I can’t swim, I’ll learn—this mere water resistance, do you think I can’t adapt to it?!”

Qi Ming gritted his teeth—he refused to be “Tiga who can’t swim.”

Thus, he tensed his mind, focused entirely, forced himself to calm down, and rapidly adapted to the underwater environment.

Seijiro, who had been preparing to assist with Ultraman Psychic Power, was stunned: “This rate of improvement… such incredible learning ability!”

“Thousand Wave Strike!” Qi Ming’s self-created technique—he unleashed a flurry of blows underwater, pushing Angulas back.

“And you—watch my Thousand Wave Kick!” Qi Ming followed with a barrage of kicks, churning the sea into a surge that sent Reiylos flying backward.

“Ding-dong—ding-dong—ding-dong.” At the same time, one minute passed; Tiga’s Color Timer began flashing.

“Shhh.” Feiyan One, piloted by Megumi, returned.

After landing, Megumi sprinted out holding a massive fish tank, inside which was a large fish.

“Wu!” Angulas, seeing its child, became agitated and ceased its assault on Tiga.

Seeing this, Qi Ming thought it was finally over.

“Huh? Where’s Team Member Qi Ming? He’s gone again?” Megumi glanced around curiously.

The next instant, Ryu Chunya appeared unexpectedly beside Megumi and delivered a brutal elbow strike to her back, knocking her down.

“Crash!” The fish tank in Megumi’s hands shattered; Angulas’s child bounced wildly amid shards of glass.

“What are you doing?!” Kishida, on board Sherlock’s vehicle, turned pale and reached for his gun.

“I heard everything—this is the giant fish’s child. Let these beasts kill each other!”

Ryu Chunya grabbed the tail of Angulas’s child and hurled it forcefully toward Reiylos.

Reiylos, having evolved from a dolphin, opened its mouth without hesitation and swallowed Angulas’s child whole.

Xiang Tenggong looked at Ryu Chunya with an expression of “I knew it,” sneered, and turned away.

Qi Ming, who had been about to use the Cell Conversion Beam to revert Reiylos: “???”

His blood pressure skyrocketed.

His fists clenched. Fuck, why did you have to play Haru no Kage?!

It was all going to end perfectly, and now you, disarmed as you are, still stir up trouble like in the original plot?

Why are there so many mad dogs in the Defense Force? Your personal actions will cost all of humanity!

Hurry—get the child out before it enters Reiylos’s stomach, or it’ll dissolve instantly in gastric fluid!

Running was too slow—he needed teleportation, a teleport with no casting delay… he had to try this move!

Focus his mind, concentrate his intent, project his psychic energy to the target location… Shifting Form and Changing Shadow!

The next instant, Tiga’s body left a trail of afterimages, appearing before Reiylos as if tearing through space, and struck its abdomen with full force.

“Puff!” Reiylos opened its mouth in agony; Qi Ming quickly thrust half his body inside and fished for Angulas’s child.

Reiylos thrashed violently, pounding Tiga’s abdomen with its fin-like arms, named “Million-Ton Fins.”

Seeing its child swallowed, Angulas went into immediate shock.

It charged forward and slammed into Tiga’s back.

Pain—so much pain!

Trapped between two foes, Qi Ming endured the agony and the foul stench inside Reiylos’s mouth while retrieving the child; his germophobia drove him to madness—he thought, why the hell am I doing this?!

This scene stunned everyone on shore.

Ryu Chunya couldn’t accept it, roaring: “What is Ultraman doing? Why isn’t he destroying the monster?!”

Nishijo Nagi frowned: “Does Tiga also believe in coexistence between humans and monsters?”

Seijiro nodded: “Ultraman warriors fight for life and justice—he surely doesn’t want to deepen the conflict, or many will die.”

Megumi, still rubbing her back after being elbowed, stood up: “But… this is too hard.”

Kishida: “Under these circumstances, we can’t help.”

Yamana: “How can we not help?”

He stepped beside Ryu Chunya and delivered a powerful left hook.

Ryu Chunya, still stunned by Ultraman’s “inaction,” had no defense—three teeth, spattered with blood, flew out as he collapsed.

But Yamana didn’t stop—he straddled Ryu Chunya and swung left and right: “Dare you attack our Victory Team? You bastard!”

Defense Force personnel, seeing their commander attacked, rushed forward to help.

But Kishida, snapping back to his senses, drew his gun—forcing those just disarmed by Qi Ming to freeze in place.

Ryu Chunya’s vision swam with stars; worse than the physical pain was the shocked, bewildered stares of his own soldiers.

His own subordinates watching him beaten like this—how could he ever maintain authority again?

The pain in his head surged like a tide; the humiliation in his chest cut like a thousand knives—his mind and body finally gave out, and he fainted.

“Alright, now let Qi Ming handle this—he’s good at this kind of thing.”

Yamana looked at Ryu Chunya, now a swollen mess, stood up, and withdrew his fists with slight satisfaction.

Kishida blinked: “That’s oddly fitting… but where’s Qi Ming?”

Megumi: “You just noticed? I didn’t see him when I came back.”

Gone again… This stirred a quiet unease in Megumi and Nishijo Nagi.

At sea, Qi Ming, enduring both physical and mental torment, seized the tiny fish just before it entered the digestive tract and pulled it out.

As he withdrew from Reiylos’s mouth, he kicked Angulas backward several meters with a spiteful backheel and placed its child before it.

“I got your child back. Leave.” Qi Ming, furious and nearly out of his mind, had no patience left—his tone was harsh and cold.

Angulas instinctively sensed the overwhelming resentment radiating from the giant; it didn’t hesitate, snatched its child, and swiftly returned to the sea.

Seeing this, Megumi murmured: “Ultraman Tiga… is so gentle.”

The next instant, the “gentle Ultraman” Megumi spoke of turned around—facing the fallen Ryu Chunya, radiating pure malice.
