Chapter 88: 85 TORNADO DESTROYS PARKING LOT!
“Hurry, stop this immediately—don’t let the destruction escalate further!” Counselor Inagaki urgently contacted Victory Team for precise intervention.
“Stop this… how? Are we supposed to attack Ultraman?” Yamakami asked as he piloted Hibari-1 toward the scene.
Natsuki Nishijo in Machine Two glanced sharply.
During this time, through analyzing Ultraman Gaia’s behavior, she felt this Ultraman favored Earth monsters.
If humans ever went to full-scale war with Earth monsters, Gaia might truly become an obstacle.
On the field, Qi Ming looked at the ruined construction site, then at Daigalen, collapsed and twitching helplessly after the impact—he was thoroughly satisfied.
“Even Gaia’s normal landing has a certain ‘impact.’ I deliberately plunged from such a height—this effect is excellent.” Qi Ming was deeply pleased.
Bokkong, meanwhile, charged at Gaia with fury.
“Die, mastermind of this chaos!”
Qi Ming grabbed two half-damaged PW machines, wielding them like weapons as he swung wildly around himself and at Bokkong.
Destroying the construction site was the main goal; fighting monsters was secondary.
“No, stop fighting—please, stop!” President Hanabishi wailed endlessly.
As a major late-game antagonist from Ultraman Jack, Bokkong was powerful—originally overpowering Jack in the series, only defeated by exploiting his weakness.
But Qi Ming was equally astonishingly strong; even while distracted by destroying the site, he held his own against Bokkong at a 6-4 advantage.
Seeing this, Bokkong rotated the twin antennae on his head—the ground beneath Gaia split open, burying him halfway.
Qi Ming: “...”
Burying the embodiment of Earth’s will into the earth itself—too clever.
“Earth? It only makes me stronger!”
He burst from the ground in a flash and slammed his Diamond Fist into Bokkong with full force.
“I hate that white mask!” Qi Ming unleashed another flying knee, smashing it hard against Bokkong’s mask-like face, sending the monster reeling backward.
Then he charged up [Photon Ice Blade] and shattered Bokkong completely.
Meanwhile, Nishijo’s Hibari-2 fired the Texas Beam into the dying Daigalen, finishing it off.
A blue light and a green light flowed into Gaia’s Ultra Key on Qi Ming’s wrist—he didn’t hesitate, converting both entirely.
Star reward: 10.
Amplification: 6/10.
The monster and Bokkong were eliminated; the underground city was left in ruins—the crisis was resolved.
But Qi Ming did not immediately de-transform. He flew toward storm-tossed Tokyo and gently landed before one of the Jinyu’s dragon heads.
Counselor Inagaki, watching from the big screen, nearly spat blood: “He could’ve landed calmly—this Ultraman deliberately did it on purpose!”
Several Defense Force soldiers were present; they had just launched another assault on the dragon head—and were instantly crushed.
“Go, Ultraman! Hit him hard!” shouted the officer.
This man was [Hirosaki Hiroyuki], who fired the subterranean Guantong missile that killed Tigris in Ultraman Gaia.
In this world, he too belonged to the Defense Force faction.
Gaia paid no attention, spoke no word—only silently locked eyes with Jinyu.
The giant and the majestic dragon head faced each other across the storm, a scene of solemn sacredness.
Three minutes later, the dragon head was wrapped in blue light and retreated underground.
Simultaneously, all other dragon heads withdrew; the sky began to clear.
…………………………
The subterranean Deros civilization.
“The Earth’s guardian acts with fairness—he helps us resolve troubles and blocks the malice of surface humans.”
“Jinyu’s rage has been calmed—what else is there to argue about?”
“The dragon vein has restored its function of blocking harmful solar radiation—we can survive a little longer…”
With the underground city project destroyed and the main dragon vein’s sealing broken, the Deros civilization chose to endure further.
…………………………
On the other side, Yamakami of Hibari realized something: “We just killed that Earth monster, right? Won’t Team Member Qi Ming object?”
“I have no objections.” Qi Ming’s voice echoed through the comms channel.
Earlier, while communicating mentally with Jinyu in Gaia’s form, Jinyu told him not all Earth monsters fell under his jurisdiction.
Creatures like Golza and Melba—brutal super-ancient monsters—clearly had nothing to do with it.
“That ever-present Team Member Qi Ming, silent in battle, only speaks up after it’s over…” Emi felt it couldn’t possibly be coincidence every time.
…………………………
With all settled, President Hanabishi stared at the devastated construction site, expressionless.
At such moments, emotional numbness meant suppressing emotion.
The once-vibrant site had become a wasteland; the contrast crushed his ambitious dreams more than death itself.
“Heavy losses indeed—all palaces turned to dust.” Qi Ming walked beside him, holding Dr. Koizumi’s research notes, speaking with sarcasm.
After passing through his hysterical phase, President Hanabishi no longer resisted or feared Qi Ming—he murmured:
“When I was young, I loved watching ants.”
“I put ants into a glass jar filled with dirt, then added crumbly biscuits and candy.”
“I watched outside as they dug tunnels and built nests—I found it delightful.”
“The underground city was inspired by ant colonies.”
“If such tiny ants can build such magnificent nests, how much more could humans achieve?”
“Humans must be able to create far superior living spaces underground.”
Qi Ming nodded: “Holding onto a dream and working hard is admirable—but the prerequisite is not causing others trouble.”
He handed Dr. Koizumi’s notes to him; the man took them, his expression growing heavier with each page.
“Were we used…?” After a moment of gloom, President Hanabishi’s eyes flickered: “What if we eliminated all these troublesome monsters—and all other ‘abnormalities’ on Earth?”
Qi Ming: “Have you considered the possibility that humans might be wiped out by monsters?”
President Hanabishi froze: “What?”
Qi Ming shook his head: “The Nazis entered war with a naive fantasy: believing only they could bomb others, and no one could bomb them.”
President Hanabishi understood his meaning; his face darkened with conflicting emotions.
Qi Ming shifted tone, offering him a glimmer of hope: “When humans and monsters truly coexist in harmony, your underground city can be built—perhaps then you’ll even recruit monsters to dig your trenches.”
President Hanabishi: “I fear I won’t live to see that day.”
Qi Ming: “Wait? In a situation like this, everyone must strive together to create it.”
President Hanabishi actually smiled: “Strive? What can I possibly do?”
Qi Ming: “Start by not causing chaos.”
President Hanabishi: “...”
Qi Ming: “Leave this land untouched. When the age of coexistence arrives, rise again from where you fell.”
Beneath this land, the main dragon vein shelters the Deros civilization with a million Bassarks—better to isolate it, lest misunderstandings recur.
“Of course, I won’t give up,” President Hanabishi said firmly.
The massive construction site was destroyed; his losses were catastrophic—he’d likely have to sell off much of his property to keep funding flowing.
But he would not sell this land. Even if construction halted, he would keep it here, holding his dream.
“You’ve finally done something useful. Congratulations—you’re almost human now.” Qi Ming patted his shoulder in encouragement.
President Hanabishi: “...”
