Chapter 642

"Split Demon World Rose, attack 'Survivor from Another Dimension'!"

The Demon World Rose waved its vines, its vibrant flower opening and closing like a hungry mouth eager to devour its prey.

"At this moment, the effect of Split Demon World Rose," Yubel said, "copies the attack power of the attack target."

【Split Demon World Rose, ATK 0 → ATK 1800】

Two vines bound the hands of the Survivor from Another Dimension like tentacles, while two others pierced through its chest like spears. The Survivor from Another Dimension was instantly run through, exploding and leaving the field.

"Of course, with the protection of 'Knightly Spirit', Split Demon World Rose itself will not be destroyed by battle with a monster of equal attack power."

Yubel chuckled smugly, then slowly drew a card with two fingers.

"Next, I activate the Spell card 'Treasures of Heaven and Earth'. In a turn where a Tribute Summon was performed, I can draw two cards from my deck. However, the cards drawn cannot be used this turn, and if they can be Set, at least one must be Set on the field."

Yubel drew two cards, glanced at them, added them to her hand, and then picked out three cards from her hand.

"I Set three cards, turn end."

"Three cards Set in the back row, how terrifying."

Fujiki You Xuan said, unruffled.

"However, in this End Phase—"

Within the dimensional rift on Fujiki You Xuan's field, pitch-black lightning was released, crashing onto the field like a thunderclap. The lightning exploded on the ground, transforming into that tattered cloak, and the warrior wearing it returned once more.

【Survivor from Another Dimension, ATK 1800】

"What?" Yubel frowned. "Survivor from Another Dimension? This guy should have been defeated already—"

"He is called 'Survivor' for a reason," Fujiki You Xuan said. "During the End Phase of the turn this face-up card on my field was banished from the game, this banished card is Special Summoned to my field."

"Banished—"

Yubel glanced at the rift in the air and suddenly realized.

"Dimensional Fissure?"

The effect of Dimensional Fissure is that all monsters sent to the Graveyard are banished from the game instead. After the Survivor from Another Dimension was destroyed by battle, he was naturally banished, subsequently triggering his own effect to revive on the field.

Thus, for the monsters on both their sides, one Demon World Rose could forever copy the opponent's attack power and could not be destroyed by battle, while the other could infinitely return from the other dimension after being destroyed. In this way, the battle between these two monsters was clearly meaningless.

"A monster specifically meant to form a combo with Dimensional Fissure, huh." Yubel snorted. "As expected, I still need to deal with that troublesome rift first."

"My turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan said.

"At this moment—"

Yubel waved her hand.

"I activate my Set card, the Trap card 'Dust Tornado'! Destroy one Spell or Trap card on the field."

What she intended to destroy was, of course, self-evident.

"Destroy the Continuous Spell 'Dimensional Fissure'!"

The Spell she considered the biggest thorn in her side until now dissipated into nothingness within the tornado.

Fujiki You Xuan didn't mind, proceeding to the Main Phase.

"I Tribute 'Survivor from Another Dimension' for a Tribute Summon! The Monarch who governs the power of light and thunder—

—Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, summon!"

The Survivor from Another Dimension vanished in the storm of sacrifice, as incandescent electric light and thunder gathered, crashing down as rolling heavenly thunder.

Where the thunder exploded, the Monarch's cloak fluttered in the wind. The white Monarch hovered in mid-air, with rolling lightning waiting for orders like a thousand troops. 【Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, ATK 2400】

"Sacrificed the Survivor... I see. If I hadn't destroyed the Dimensional Fissure, the sacrificed Survivor would also have been banished from the game and returned to the field at the end of the turn, allowing him to be used as a Tribute endlessly," Yubel said.

"When Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch is successfully Tribute Summoned, destroy one monster on the field."

Fujiki You Xuan pointed to Yubel's field.

"Destroy Split Demon World Rose."

Thunder gathered, turning into a churning sphere of electric light in the Monarch's raised right palm. The sphere of thunder roared as it blasted out, heading straight for the Demon World Rose.

"The Demon World Rose is only invincible in battle," Fujiki You Xuan said. "It's helpless against effect destruction."

A fireball ignited on the field again, and the flower bloomed in the flames.

When an opponent's Spell, Trap, or monster effect is activated that would destroy a card on the field, negate that activation, and send a Level 3 or lower Dark-attribute monster from the deck to the Graveyard."

As the words fell, a large mass of black mist had already been released from her Trap, blocking in front of the Demon World Rose like a barrier of fog. The Monarch's electric light crashed into the churning cloud, disappearing without a trace like a stone sinking into the sea.

"Using the Monarch to break through the battle-invincible Split Demon World Rose is a good idea," Yubel chuckled. "Unfortunately, it seems I'm still one step ahead."

Don't miss a single word of the content!

"Then I activate the Equip Spell 'Rainbow Veil'."

Fujiki You Xuan glanced at it sideways, laughing: "You know? You sound like a little brother flattering the Supreme King now."

"Equip it to 'Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch'."

The energy of seven-colored rainbow light covered the Monarch's body, like a magnificent energy armor overflowing with colorful light.

"I Tribute 'Lonefire Blossom' which returned to the field again," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Special Summon any Plant-type monster from the deck."

Yubel: "!"

In other words, if the Monarch battles the Rose, her Demon World Rose's effect will be negated, leaving it as a 0-ATK vanilla monster.

But that wasn't all that shocked Yubel.

What horrified her was that this Equip card was equally effective against her true form!

Yubel evolved in space after receiving the light of destruction, and now her true form has three different stages. But no matter the stage, her original attack power is only 0. However, her true form cannot be destroyed by battle and can reflect battle damage to the opponent, which is also her main combat method.

But this single Equip Spell was enough to turn her pride-and-joy true form into a 0-ATK vanilla monster!

The banish-based system centered on Dimensional Fissure, and now this Rainbow Veil that targeted her so precisely...

Is this a coincidence?

Is it really possible to target her to this extent purely by coincidence?

"Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, attack 'Split Demon World Rose'," Fujiki You Xuan said. "And due to the effect of 'Rainbow Veil' during the Battle Phase, the Demon World Rose's effect is negated during the Battle Step."

Yubel: "Tch."

However, Split Demon World Rose has another effect: when destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, it leaves behind two tokens. The tokens can be used as Tributes for a Tribute Summon in the next turn, possessing decent sustainability.

Now that the Dimensional Fissure has been destroyed by her, even if the Demon World Rose is beaten down, in the next turn...

"During the Attack Declaration Phase, I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Light of Redemption'," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Special Summon one Fairy-type monster from my hand. The monster Special Summoned by this effect has its attack power halved and is destroyed during the End Phase."

Yubel: "?"

Special Summoning a Fairy-type at this juncture?

What kind of thing is that?

Fujiki You Xuan: "Special Summon this Fairy from my hand.

Banisher of the Radiance!"

【Banisher of the Radiance, ATK 1600 → ATK 800】

"The effect of Banisher of the Radiance," Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "while this card is on the field, all cards sent to the Graveyard are not sent to the Graveyard, but are banished directly from the game."

Yubel: "."
