Chapter 927: That

"Blackwing - Armor Master, attack 'Earthbound Immortal Rasca'!"

As Armor Master, with only 2500 ATK, spread its wings and charged toward Rasca, the disparity in their sizes made it look almost like a mantis trying to stop a chariot.

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes: "However, this guy's effect is..."

By now, Armor Master had already slammed its fist into the Earthbound Immortal. But of course, given the massive gap in strength, the Earthbound Immortal didn't budge in the slightest; it looked like a mosquito had just bumped into it, with absolutely no reaction.

But naturally, Armor Master cannot be destroyed by battle, so it was unharmed itself.

However, as Armor Master pulled back, a keen eye might have glimpsed that as the fist retracted, a tiny object, like a nail, seemed to have been left on the Earthbound Immortal's massive body.

Crow: "Armor Master's monster effect! Battle damage to me from this card becomes 0, and after battle, I can place a Wedge Counter on the monster it battled!"

To speak in K-language, it means placing a Wedge Counter.

"Next, I use Armor Master's effect!" Crow shouted, "By removing the placed Wedge Counter, the ATK and DEF of the monster with the counter become 0 until the end of the turn!"

"Oh?" Fujiki You Xuan said, "This effect can be activated during the Battle Phase too?"

He thought about it for a moment; it seemed correct. In the anime, Armor Master often removed the Wedge immediately within the same Battle Phase after placing it, then had other Blackwings move in to finish the job.

This was much more powerful than the physical card. At first glance, the effect of the physical Armor Master seemed identical to the original, but the physical Armor Master can only remove the Wedge during its own Main Phase.

This meant that if Armor Master attacked the opponent and placed a Wedge, it had to wait until after the Battle Phase to remove it. In other words, if one wanted to defeat the monster with the Wedge, the fastest one could do so was to wait until the next turn to reduce the opponent's ATK to zero and attack.

This made it much less efficient than in the anime. With a one-turn delay, there were simply too many variables; the opponent might use the monster with the Wedge as material on their next turn, or Armor Master might not even survive until the next turn.

Crow: "Reduce Earthbound Immortal Rasca's ATK to 0!"

The Wedge was removed, and cracks immediately began to spread across the Earthbound Immortal from the point of impact. The cracks soon covered its chest like a rapidly radiating spiderweb; the massive Earthbound Immortal looked like a piece of ceramic about to shatter, covered in wounds.

【Earthbound Immortal Rasca, ATK 4000 → ATK 0】

"Next, battle again!"

Crow shouted.

"Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North, attack 'Earthbound Immortal Rasca'!"

This highlighted the power of Armor Master in the anime—being able to use teammates to finish the job in the same Battle Phase the effect was activated. The Winged Beast-Warrior leapt forward, its spiral spear thrusting out, carrying a transparent cyclone, and crashed into the crack in the Earthbound Immortal's chest.

With a rumbling sound, the Earthbound Immortal's body collapsed with a crash, disintegrating into countless fragments and crumbling into a pile of ruins.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 7400 → LP 5700】

"How about that! Defeated the strongest Earthbound Immortal!" Crow said, "This is the strength of my Blackwings. If the power of companions is gathered, any strong enemy can be defeated!"

Fujiki You Xuan patted the dust off his body: "That point is indeed correct."

But he changed the subject and smiled.

"Well, but even for the Blackwings you are so proud of, your realm hasn't reached the level yet."

"Nani?"

Crow was annoyed.

"What did you say?"

Questioning his strength is nothing. Even if he really doesn't want to admit it, Crow has to face this fact: the opponent is strong, very likely stronger than himself. If he were to run into Godwin one-on-one, he would likely have no chance of winning.

But the opponent wasn't questioning his strength; he was questioning his operation of the Blackwings, questioning the bond between him and his monsters!

That he couldn't tolerate!

"The potential of the Blackwings is stronger than you think, Crow Hogan. What you are displaying now is only a very limited part."

Fujiki You Xuan paused, his gaze sweeping over the other two.

"In fact, whether it's Fudo Yusei or Jack Atlas, your decks are all like this. Your decks still have infinite possibilities, but whether you can evolve to that step, whether you can dig out that potential, depends on yourselves."

The three of them were secretly surprised.

What is this guy saying all of a sudden?

Indeed, whether it was Yusei's Synchrons, Jack's Resonators, or Crow's Blackwings, they all had a large amount of support in later generations and potential that completely exceeded the current generation. Right now, their decks and they themselves were just as green, with huge room for improvement.

But then again, if that weren't the case, Fujiki You Xuan wouldn't need to fight them. The meaning of Fujiki You Xuan acting as a villain here was originally to hope they would improve as quickly as possible.

So Fujiki You Xuan smiled again, "Well, no matter how great the potential is, if it isn't awakened, it's just potential after all. If you want to develop this potential, if you want to evolve, you must first be able to survive today."

Crow gritted his teeth: "Don't get cocky with me...

My Battle Phase is over, but the turn isn't over yet!"

He played another card from his hand.

"Activate the Spell Card 'Shield Crush'! I can destroy one monster in Defense Position on the field!

Destroy your 'Phantom of Chaos' that Yusei turned into Defense Position!"

The emerald magic beam pierced like a javelin, penetrating the black mud defending on Fujiki You Xuan's field. The vortex of chaos was blown apart, disintegrating into fragments.

Crow: "Besides the Earthbound Immortal, your Phantom of Chaos can transform into an Earthbound Immortal again next turn... Don't think I've forgotten about that!

I have a countermeasure for this move!"

Saying this, he drew two more cards.

"Set two cards in the back row, turn end!"

Crow shouted, throwing a punch.

"Whatever Earthbound Immortals or other tricks you have, bring them out! No matter what kind of thing it is, the bond between us and our monsters, and the bond of our Satisfaction Team, will absolutely not lose!"

"Hahaha, not bad, not bad, that's the momentum."

Fujiki You Xuan applauded.

"That's right, that's it. With bonds, nothing is impossible. Just keep it like that."

The three: "..."

An opponent who wants to destroy the world suddenly stole their lines; you couldn't tell for a moment if it was mockery or something else.

"But it's not enough, not enough."

Fujiki You Xuan shook his head.

"This level of enthusiasm can't defeat me, nor can it truly defeat the Earthbound Immortal."

Yusei felt a chill in his heart.

Can't truly defeat... Could it be that this Earthbound Immortal just now can still fake its death?
