Chapter 178: Qin Yunshu Stood Outside All Night
Cheng Wan saw Cheng Han in the parking lot.
He was waiting for her.
His slender fingers rested on the car door, a cigarette pinched between his fingertips; it wasn't lit, just held there casually.
Seeing Cheng Wan, he stepped out of the car first.
"How is she?" he asked.
Cheng Wan looked at his appearance and was somewhat silent.
Cheng Han was always someone who paid attention to his image, but at this moment, he was visibly disheveled and unkempt.
"Are you alright?" she asked with concern.
Cheng Han rubbed his hair, "I'm fine."
"She is doing well and has decided to go abroad as soon as possible," Cheng Wan told Cheng Han of Lin Qingya's decision.
Cheng Han didn't speak for several seconds.
Finally, he murmured, "That's good."
Lin Qingya should leave.
"Cheng Han." Cheng Wan wanted to ask him what was wrong.
He looked completely miserable.
Cheng Han just leaned against the car with his back half-arched and waved his hand.
Cheng Wan didn't ask again.
After standing for a while, the parking lot was still a bit cold, so Cheng Wan planned to leave.
Cheng Han suddenly spoke again, "Cheng Wan, do you want to go abroad to rest during your pregnancy?"
Cheng Wan frowned, "Abroad?"
Cheng Han straightened his body, regaining a bit of his dashing demeanor, "You could go to clear your mind; don't you find it boring to revolve around A Li all day?"
"Besides, don't you like studying perfume? I can let you take Katherine's classes and learn from foreign perfume knowledge."
He was saying this very seriously.
Cheng Wan refused, "I am a disciple of Master Fang now, so there is no need to seek out Katherine."
After all, Katherine also came from Master Fang's tutelage, so why should she look far afield when she has what she needs nearby?
"There are other perfume masters; you could go visit them too," Cheng Han continued to persuade.
Cheng Wan shook her head, "I'm not going. My production line here has just been set up and is about to go into operation; I have a mountain of things to do."
"I'll give you five million; stop doing that work," Cheng Han said urgently.
Cheng Wan smiled and shook her head; Cheng Han was truly hilarious.
In a car not far away, Cheng Huade watched Cheng Wan and Cheng Han with an expressionless face.
Cheng Huade was not surprised that Cheng Han knew Chu Li.
What he found strange was that they seemed to have a good relationship.
"President Cheng, shall we go?" the driver asked.
Cheng Huade was just about to say wait, when he saw another car drive over.
Chu Li got out of the car.
"Let's go," Cheng Huade ordered.
Chu Li got out of the car and naturally stood by Cheng Wan's side, "Why did you come down?"
Cheng Han returned to his car, "I'm leaving first."
Cheng Wan sighed softly; she actually didn't want Lin Qingya and Cheng Han to have any more contact, but seeing the way Cheng Han left, she felt he was somewhat pitiful.
Her wrist was suddenly gripped.
Cheng Wan came back to her senses.
"Prenatal checkup." Chu Li pulled her into the elevator.
Cheng Wan pulled her hand back, "I know."
By the time the prenatal checkup was finished, it was already four in the afternoon.
The child was developing very well; one could not tell at all how much Cheng Wan had suffered during her first pregnancy.
Chu Li accompanied Cheng Wan through the checkup and arranged for a driver to take Cheng Wan back.
He had to go on a business trip.
Cheng Wan had driven herself and didn't need a driver.
She went to the studio to pick up Qin Ping'an and returned to Beicheng Villa.
Just as she arrived at the entrance, she saw Qin Yunshu.
She was pacing back and forth at the door.
Hearing the sound of the car, she immediately ran over, even eagerly trying to help Cheng Wan out of the car.
Cheng Wan ignored her.
Qin Yunshu could only awkwardly withdraw her hand.
After Cheng Wan got out of the car, she immediately followed, "Sister-in-law."
Cheng Wan said coldly and indifferently, "Why are you still here?"
Qin Yunshu bit her lip and said pitifully, "I came to beg for Sister-in-law's forgiveness."
Cheng Wan instructed the servant, "Don't let her in."
She was not Chu Li; she didn't have that much of a soft heart.
After dinner, Cheng Wan accompanied Qin Ping'an to play for a while, then coaxed him to sleep.
Stepping out of the room, she discovered it was raining outside.
The servant was pacing back and forth at the entrance in a panic, not knowing what to do.
"Madam." Seeing Cheng Wan come out, the servant hurriedly said, "Miss Qin is still outside."
Cheng Wan walked to the window and looked down.
Qin Yunshu stood in the rain with her arms wrapped around herself; her clothes were already soaked through, and her long hair hung down in strands.
She looked utterly wretched.
"Madam, what should we do?" the servant asked cautiously.
Qin Yunshu was, after all, Chu Li's sister; if something were to really happen to her, they could not bear the responsibility.
Cheng Wan watched quietly for a few minutes.
"Did you not tell her to come in?"
The servant dared not lie, "I did, but Miss Yun Shu said she must have your personal permission before she would dare to enter."
Cheng Wan's brows twitched, and she let out a laugh of ambiguous meaning; Qin Yunshu was playing a game of brinkmanship, wanting her to bow her head first.
"Tell her, either get lost or keep standing there." Cheng Wan had always lacked patience for Qin Yunshu.
Let alone sympathy.
The autumn rain was cold, and Qin Yunshu was becoming unable to endure the freezing temperature.
Why hadn't Cheng Wan come out yet?
Did she not know she was out here in the rain?
Just as she was thinking about whether to find someone to ask, the main gate opened, the servant came out, relayed Cheng Wan's words, and then "bang," shut the door.
Qin Yunshu gritted her teeth, unable to believe it.
She was Chu Li's sister; wasn't Cheng Wan afraid that Chu Li would argue with her if he found out?
All night long, the main gate did not open.
Cheng Wan got up, rubbed her brow to steady herself, and only then washed up and went out.
The servant had been waiting outside the door, "Madam, Miss Yun Shu is still at the gate."
She said in a low voice, "She stood there all night, soaked in the rain all night."
Cheng Wan looked over from the second-floor balcony and saw Qin Yunshu, whose face was exceptionally pale.
"Call an ambulance."
The servant hurried downstairs and called an ambulance.
In any case, Cheng Wan had no intention of letting Qin Yunshu use the family driver.
Calling an ambulance for her was already her greatest mercy.
Qin Yunshu had stayed in the rain for an entire night, her lips frozen white.
She looked up, saw Cheng Wan on the second floor, and shouted with all her might, "Sister-in-law, are you still unwilling to forgive me?"
Cheng Wan had no expression, "Why should I forgive you?"
"Or perhaps you should ask, would Xingwan forgive you, would Grandmother forgive you, would Qingya forgive you?"
Qin Yunshu collapsed to the ground, unable to hold herself up, "I really know I was wrong."
She wept bitterly in agony, like someone who had reached a desperate dead end.
Yet Cheng Wan remained indifferent.
She even pulled the balcony door shut.
Not long after, the ambulance took Qin Yunshu to the Yiyuan.
Having been soaked in the rain all night, Qin Yunshu soon developed a fever.
When Chu Yue brought Lady Qin over, Cheng Wan was curled up on the sofa watching television.
Her extremely cold demeanor caused Lady Qin to break down instantly.
She pointed at Cheng Wan and accused her, "Cheng Wan, how can you still be at ease watching television here? You have harmed Yun Shu so miserably."
Cheng Wan tilted her head, "What else would you have me do?"
"You..." Lady Qin was about to faint from anger.
The servant explained in a low voice, "Madam tried to persuade Miss Yun Shu to leave, but Miss Yun Shu insisted on standing outside..."
"There is no place for you to speak here," Chu Yue scolded sternly.
The servant was immediately too frightened to speak.
