Zhao Jin, a self-made orphan in modern China, dies of a sudden illness just as his career begins to flourish. He awakens to find himself reborn in the body of a ten-year-old boy in the thirty-eighth year of the Wanli reign of the Great Ming Dynasty. Now the sole heir to a hereditary but impoverished military household in Xuzhou, his father works as an executioner to make ends meet, and his uncle is a broken-down martial artist with a mysterious past.

In a world of declining imperial authority, corrupt guards, and harsh daily life, Zhao Jin must navigate his new reality. Armed with the ruthless pragmatism of his past life and a body that has miraculously recovered from a fatal fright, he begins to explore his surroundings. A chance encounter with a chubby, stick-wielding boy named Chen Sheng reveals that even among children, strength rules.

As Zhao Jin takes his first steps into this brutal yet vibrant world, he realizes that survival requires more than just memories—it demands strength, cunning, and the will to fight.
