West to Yiwu, east to Lingwu: more than four thousand li of land regained, a million households in its registers — the mountains and rivers of six commanderies, returned as if they had never been lost.

The Guiyi Army: an unavoidable chapter of the late-Tang northwest. Zhang Yichao: a hero who should never have been buried by the yellow sands of history.

Can a soul from a later age, in the body of Zhang Yichao's great-grandson, raise the banner of righteousness in the northwest once more — and turn back the tide before it swallows everything?
